Today’s practice session saw three starters in the secondary either missing or limited in practice, including cornerback Leon Hall, who looks less likelier by the day to play on Sunday vs the Cleveland Browns.
If he doesn’t play Sunday, it would be a huge loss vs the Browns, given that they’re coming off of a 31-point performance with most of their offense being through the air. It doesn’t help that Adam Jones, the team’s nickle-corner and essentially a starter in this defense, doesn’t play if his latest mishap with the law causes him to also miss Sunday.
Expect to see wide receiver Josh Gordon to have another big-day on Sunday, as he’s slated to be matched-up against either an injured cornerback, or a backup who hasn’t seen many snaps this year even on special teams. He could very-well have the likes of Curtis Marsh and Brandon Ghee covering him.
That may lead to another big day for Brian Hoyer as well, who’s looking to put a stranglehold on the Browns’ starting QB job.
