All of them are guards / forwards drafted in the late lottery (for the most part) that shot above 35% from beyond the arc as college athletes. Which is what you wanted. I mean Adam Morrison is the perfect corollary to Ochoa. Dude is 6’8” 205lbs and shot 50% from the field and 42% from behind the arc his junior year before being drafted third overall and his career lasted four seasons.

I’m not even saying that I think Ochai is going to be a bust. All I’m saying is people only see great things for prospects and ignore bad outcomes because players that don’t make it fade in to obscurity. The draft is selection bias on steroids as everyone casually dismisses or ignores the busts. People need to have much more realistic/ grounded expectations for NBA prospects. Most never achieve the lofty ideals their fans have for them.

Adam Morrison was expected to be an all around scoring wing. Ochai was expected to be a high level 3 and D guy.

In Summer league his shot looked really good. He has an NBA shot. Looks very clean and he can get it off quickly. He has pogo legs that give him a high release.

He runs the floor and gets the ball up the floor quickly if he gets the rebound either passing ahead or bring it up himself. He seems like he is trying to play defense.

I'd be really surprised if he was an out and out bust. I just don't think he is going to be asked to do too much in the NBA so that he gets exposed. His high level athleticism is something you usually don't see from the older guys that get drafted.

Agbaji has the tools to be an all-star. With Mitchell here, he's not needed but Utah got a good one.

I'd rather have Donovan Mitchell than the poor man's Buddy Hield.

No one is saying anything to the contrary so I don't understand the point of this post.

He's a good movement shooter too, coming off screens/cuts.

The point of the post is that Ainge specifically requested Ochai after Koby said no on Allen. No Ochai, no Mitchell. I just didn't show my work.

Of course if we don't make the trade we'd have Lauri, Sexton and the picks in addition to the poor man's Buddy Hield. Still prefer gaining Mitchell and keeping Allen over Agbaji and the rest.

Ochai was not worth enough for Koby to kill the deal. Still isn't.

Didn’t need his shooting amirite?

Yeah we need his shooting. We have given up shooting in the Rubio trade, and the Donovan Mitchell trade. We traded Shooting for talent upgrades. Now all we really need is to get shooting

correct.

And what is left to trade?

We shouldnt include a player who has a 10% chance of becoming an all star in 5 years in a trade for a player who was a 4 time all star and is now 6th in the league for MVP. What was Koby thinking. You never trade mid 1st round potential for a top 5 or 10 player, crazy right?
