He's not great yet, but he is looking good defensively and has started hitting his shots. He can also clearly play with other well, which would have been crucial with the Cavs.
He isn't that good defensively. He simply isn't. He was poor against the offensively good Kings. A more normal sample.

He's a rookie. Showing knowledge of the scheme is good. He will be a good defender I am pretty sure.

Jazz have given up on him

The long lingering wondering if is still how did Koby think or come to decide that he was a better fit for the Cavs than the three picks immediately after: Mark Williams, AJ Griffin, and Eason.
He would have been a very marketable 'face' for the franchise. A perfect specimen from looks-perspective. Unfortunately, he is quite limited as a bb-player and I think what really turned Jazz's mind is that he wasn't good in adapting to changes. Hence, he dropped off the cliff after summer-league and never was able to recover.

After Williams and Dieng went off the board, Eason was the guy for us. The bad hombre we needed. But Koby was weighing culture too heavily at that time. Ochai was quite clearly an end of the bench guy.
