On Mark May

It absolutely astonishes me that some of these assholes have jobs. ESPN really is shameless in their hiring policies.

Speaking of Mark May the douchebag is arguing against Lou Holtz and acting like a 12 year old while doing it. Seriously...sit the fuck down Mark May you god damn bum, you're garbage.

THROW IT DOWNNN

Hearing him brag smugly about going to Pitt alongside Marino and Ditka was kinda lame. And then to brag about how Pitt Football has all this history? WTF? They've not been relevant since '82.

I don't think I had ever seen Lou Holtz need to push his accomplishments, nor Spielman, nor Urban Meyer. And all three in my book seem to be more respected of what they've done in the world of CFB.

ESPN...has really just devolved into this epitome of suck. In between grantland and people like mark may getting gigs, and espn taking over the branding of abc sports. it's become disgusting.

Then stop watching, simple solution.

This. I stopped watching Mark May awhile ago. He's made some really asinine statements over the past couple of years, most of them about OSU but in some cases not. Dude's a joke. Everyone knows it. Just move on.

Being a fan of UC in the (soon to be non-exsistant) Big East, I have listened to Mark May suck Pitt's dick for years now. I have little respect for "analysts" that are bias and make no attempt to be unbias. Chris Broussard is another good example.

I've never been much of a Herbstreet fan. But I have always respected what he says. Throughout the years his bias towards tOSU has been minimal. He usually speaks what he truly believes.

But for the most part ESPN's analysts are jokes. Their new Big East blogger is a hack. I hate companies that pay for meaningless filler like the bleacher report. It dilutes the actual sports news. So I ignore these companies as much as possible.

You can say "Avoid him", but it's unfortunately all but impossible on Saturdays in the fall.

chances are, you're going to watch a game on espn. Chilling, having a beer. You're not giving a shit, and suddenly it's halftime and you come across him with his smug arrogance trolling like it's 4chan.

it's why espn sucks balls. You just want to watch the game. You don't want to hear the Skip Baylesses's, Colin "Schrute-bag" Cowherds and yes, Mark Mays of the world, but they find a way to shove them into the broadcast in some aspect.

(BTW, it's bizarre, watch the pony excess doc. and skip comes off as very professional, almost quasi-journalistic, level headed and knowledgeable. Makes me wonder how he'd be if he quit the act)

^ if what Mays says gets your panties in a bunch, get up and get another beverage from the fridge, drop a deuce, feed your fish, take out the trash, water the plants, go check your email, cut your toenails, etc, etc, etc. If you NEED to see highlights, use the remote and switch it over to ESPNews. Just 2 bottom barrel anchors reviewing the games in progress. If your really adventurous, check the channel guide to see if anyone else has college football programming you can see highlights (they do exist)

Um, because on ESPN Skip is playing a role. His viewpoints cause controversy and gets people to tune in. Would be kind of boring and useless if someone didn't. Funny how people hated Skip when he called James "Prince" and hated on his game while he was a Cav. Once James left, Skip and other journalists (Wojo @ Yahoo) were suddenly right all along. The guy gets people talking period.

Having just turned on ESPN for two secs. as background noise, and then to hear him debate Craig James made me jump and dive for the remote.

They were debating whether USC/Notre Dame was a rivalry anymore. and May was being the epitome of a shitbag about it. "GRRR NOT ANYMORE".

And I despise both schools, DESPISE. And it made me want to hit him over the head with a mallet.

Seriously, who gave this clown a job? and when did ESPN devolve into this level of school yard name calling bullshit. I can recall a time when I could just turn on and there'd be this magical awesome concept of sports or sports highlights on TV. Fucking A. I pine for the days of sumo wrestling, rodeo and nascar being a treat to watch on ESPN2 along with Indy Racing League. I pine for the days when the network wasn't such a huge evil monopoly pushing things like the Longhorn Network and trying to destroy the Big Ten conference's rep. I pine for a station that doesn't belittle it's audience and air complete and utter shit as filler.
