read my previous posts about this...Im too lazy to look it up. No team that has that kind of money that needs him; we would be overpaying by $4-5 million dollars.

And I bet you that you can't name three teams that would offer him the max!and of those three teams, how many would Z want to play for? ZERO

The teams that have cap room don't need him, or are so bad he won't play there (Atlanta - Charlotte)...

A lot of people liked Ricky Davis he was a favorite he even though stuff went sour at the end with him, he was cool with me until the fake triple double and then I was done with him.

Z's situation isn't as clear as it should be, but here's how I lay it out.

Z has options:
Sign with Cavs
Sign with Atlanta or Charlotte
Sign-and-Trade deals

With the Cavs, he knows they're an instant contender with him. He knows Ferry. Only thing they're discussing right now is the 4th year, guaranteed or not.

Atlanta, Charlotte can offer him more, say 12 mil starting. Does he want to go there? Prolly not.

Sign-and-trades? Danny Ferry closed the door. Remember, the team has to actually agree for the trade to go through. Our intentions are keeping Z. So we closed that avenue.

So he can either sign with a different contender for the MLE, sign with Atlanta/Charlotte for boatloads of money with no rings, or he can sign with the Cavs for a few mil more than the MLE and a spot next to LeBron on the roster.

Its already been reported that Atlanta is willing to drop heavy money for Z, so the money is there for him.

He obviously isnt going to sign for $8 mill, so like I said, one way or the other, he is going to get his money.

Me and Ricky have history on these Cavs board. Its there for a constant reminder that Ill defend what I say til the death of me.

All I'm saying it is dumb to pay him $3-4 more million a year than anyone is willing to offer...We still have $17 million left and the extra cash could help get another good player.

if no other team (that he would sign for) can offer him more than the MLE, why would we pay him double that? it makes no sense!!

We arent going to pay him $3-4 more..I never said he would get the max from the Cavs, Like I said there, $10 mil is what Id pay. I wouldnt go much more over that, but $10 is below market but fair at the same time.
