I'm not big on Okongwu but no reputable site out there has him any less than 6'9"

It's hard to believe watching his tape to think he will be a bust, but yeah it is concerning how he looks like a fish out of water.

6'8 center with no outside game doesnt translate well to the modern, but i would lying if i said i have watched him in the NBA at all.

And it nicely sets up the “take a flyer on him, he was a high pick, he must have some talent” narrative 2-3 years from now. The one that currently has Frankie Smokes as the object of much of the board’s affections.

I'm just happy Koby didn't go with Onyeka. Had he gone that route, the Jarrett Allen trade probably doesn't happen & the whole rebuild goes to heck.

I’d wait on the verdict as has hardly played yet. He shot over 70 percent on FT line in college. He has potential to be a good shooter and possibly build as his career goes on.

Hawks haven't really played him at all. He started out injured, and with Capela, he can really get on the floor. Of the top 10 picks, he is getting the least minutes. ROY is easily Lamelo Ball.

I am on board with this. And I was one who even liked Okongwu.

I also agree with this. He hasn't showed anything in the minutes he's gotten.... but he hasn't really gotten many minutes at all.

I think everyone knew he was an extremely raw project to play the 4/5 in the NBA... but his athletic tools helped him into the top 10 of a pretty bad draft.


LaMelo is a stud, btw. Best rookie by far.
