Um, from what I hear there won't even be a verdict for another 6 months.

So the bowl ban won't be for this year.

I'm sure if Ohio State self imposed a bowl ban this year that it would count towards what the NCAA decides to hand down whenever that may be.

5 lost schollies over three years is nothing. It just means the walk-ons that usually get the scraps....well, won't have any scraps.

I was in agreement with you most of this summer. But, this Bobby D stuff that came to light with overpayment for work and the banquet business bothered me. OSU should've vetted this stuff much better and presented it at the August hearing. It would've made them look much better. As it is, Gene Smith and Gordon Gee look clueless and incompetent IMO.
 
After this loss to Purdue I hope they have a bowl ban this year rather than the next year(s)
 
I think one thing we can put to rest now is the Head Coach debate. This is the only season Luke Fickell will be head coach. This loss today was bad. Real bad. You would think because he was involved with last year's BAD defeat to Purdue that he would have this team up and ready to play this year. Not a chance. What a pathetic performance.

At this point I really don't care if we get a ban or not. OSU is fucked up. They deserve all they get. The football team and the coaches don't deserve squat. I was coming around to Fickell and thought this team could win out. I was gravely mistaken. What a bunch of losers. What a loser head coach. Vrable did a hell of a job as well. ALL the coaches suck.

Well the loss today differently stole some of the thunder from my Penn St. tickets next week. Guess it's time to impose the Bowl Ban.

Besides its not like we didn't go to a bowl game this year we had the "IneligiBowl" @ Miami, FL and next week we have the "Scandal Bowl" vs. Penn St.
 
I don't want to sound too much like a spin doctor. But, if OSU is able to beat PSU and the Wolverines (I know it is a big if), I still think it is a fairly successful season. That said, I still want Fickell out as coach after this year. If Fickell would've been groomed by Tressel, that would've been one thing. But, he was thrown into a situation that he clearly isn't ready to handle. I don't want to wait around for 3-4 years while he figures things out such as how hard to practice, clock and game management, etc. OSU is not a place where coaches cut their teeth. You should be already season to coach there.
 
At this point, I'm pretty much expecting us to lose to Michigan. They run the same style of offense that Toledo, Indiana and Purdue ran with success against our defense and Michigan is better than all three of them. I'm bracing myself but it's going to be so strange. We haven't lost to that fucking school since I was 13.
 
I'm pretty sure Michigan run's a pro style offense the majority of the time.. Even though they really shouldn't with Denard back there.
