With a teaser you're reducing the payout to get more favorable lines, whereas a parlay is betting you'll pick multiple games against the standard line correctly.

Let's say you've got two games:
Game 1: Team A -9.5 over Team B
Game 2: Team C -6.5 over Team D

A teaser you'd be taking Team A to cover 3.5 and Team C to cover .5 (default is buying 6 points) at a reduced payout, whereas a parlay you've got to hit the 9.5 and 6.5 but for a considerably higher payout

To follow up to my Akron post from yesterday. I broke down some numbers of theirs on a spreadsheet.

They have played 36 quarters of football. They are 2-28-6. They've won 2 quarters the entire year. 2 4th quarters, UAB and UMASS.

In 18 halves of football, they are 0-17-1. Have not won a half all year. They tied UAB 14-14 in the 2H. UAB was second game of the season for them.

Akron has not scored a touchdown in 16 quarters. Last time they scored was 4Q against UMASS.

They have scored TDs in 9 quarters, 4 of those quarters were against UMASS.

33-14 on season.....3-2 last week. I’ll take it.

I placed my slate of 5 last night bc a few lines are going to swing away from my position I believe. I’m going heavy on favorites this weekend....

I like:

UCF -16.5 vs Tulsa. I think that goes to 17 or above by Friday when game is kicked off. UCF started as slow as can be against Houston and still pulled away late. I don’t think Tulsa can keep this competitive.

Oklahoma -13 vs Iowa State. Oklahoma needs to hit the gas pedal if they want a crack at playoff and it starts on Saturday. Game is in Norman. I think OU puts up plenty of points, concern is Grinch and that defense. I feel OU handles business and has strong bounce back performance. Lincoln Riley seems like the type of coach who will get his guys up off the mat.

Boise State -11.5 vs Wyoming.....Boise State let me down a little on Sat not covering 17 vs San Jose State, but San Jose State played a helluva game. Their QB was slinging it. Wyoming doesn’t have the same pass threat, and I love Boise’s run game. I think Boise handles biz Sat night.

ND -6 vs Duke....1 week after Va Tech almost steals one in South Bend, ND goes to Duke. ND isn’t as talented as they have been in last 2-3 years, but Duke is a bit down too. I think Brian Kelly handles this speed bump and gets ND back on track. I expect this line to swing towards 7 by weekend.

La Tech -6 vs North Texas...also think this line swings to 7ish....La Tech having very good season at 7-1. North Texas is a good passing team with Mason Fine but it hasn’t translated to a lot of wins. I like La Tech at home.

I don't know what Vegas sees in Mich St. to be 14.5 favorites over anyone right now. Illinois is rolling, I don't care if MSU is coming off a bye. Their offense looks like its drudging through the mud. Anyone see this game different?
