OT: Gambling 2019 Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
First glance, a few stuck out on the early games

Colorado moneyline looks pretty nice as a home dog. +165

Purdue -7 home against Vandy.

Marshall +12 @Boise State

Probably like the Buffs the most out of all the early games.

4-1 here on the college season.

I stayed away from week one of the NFL.

Buffs were a really nice bonus this past week.

I liked OSU at open but wanted to wait. Don't see it at -14 anywhere. Maybe a better candidate for a tease.

Looking at the lines that are out.....I like the home dogs again.

Houston +270 money-line at home. Offense is starting to click a bit better under Holgorsen.

Iowa State +115 money-line at home.

The disturbing line of the week.......

How much I want to lay the points with Illinois. :chuckle:

Only Houston and ISU stood out to me as nice values. I don't love any of the other lines. I liked MSU at open but saw that has been bet up to -13. Hoping it slides to -12.5 before Saturday. If I were to pick a 3rd, it's probably SMU -17. Buchele is starting to settle in and really sling it.

Summary....will bet:

Houston ML
Iowa State ML

On the fence:

SMU -17

@SixPACK I honestly am the opposite. :chuckle: Sawyer has experience and Kentucky has a good OL. If that line jumps, I think UK can certainly hang around at home. I wouldn't take them unless it got to +10....but I think UK is still a good team upfront and will hang around. Sawyer has experience and could certainly step in and play well. Feels like a stay away though.

A few days late but can I commiserate with you all?

Took an 8 team parlay in week 1 and knew it was a moonshot, but look at the games?

Eagles over Redskins Win
Ravens over Dolphins Win
Chiefs over Jaguars Win
Rams over Panthers Win
Seahawks over Bengals Win
Chargers over Colts Win
Cowboys over Giants Win

And finally

Browns over Titans Devastating Loss

Split the bet with a couple guys at work but the ticket was $50 to win $582.45. Would have been a nice way to start the season. All of those games looked like gimmes, but 8 gamers are hard to pull off and I knew the risk. Just why did it have to be the Browns to do me like that!?!

Was basically 3-2 last week with way Aub/Tulane line moved. 7-0 prior to that.

I'm gonna continue to ride KY. I know their starting QB is out, but their backup is a very solid player, who led Troy to a very strong season last year. And I'd just say KY's QB had been nursing a knee injury for the last 2 years anyway. His mobility wasn't as strong as one would think. I just have a feeling that's a 1 score game and it comes down to the wire. I've got it at +9.

Auburn -35 vs Kent State......I thought Auburn played pretty poorly against Tulane but still pulled off the cover. They're 2-0 and will be entering league play soon. I like Malzahn to fine tune this offense. I like Auburn's back-up QB who is more mobile than Bo Nix and it sounds like he will get more time to get see if they can get run game activated. I don't think Kent State does anything offensively.

Oklahoma -23.5 vs UCLA......Feels like a lot of points, but man UCLA is bad. I don't see UCLA doing anything to stop Hurts, and I think OU's defense is aggressive enough to force a turnover or two. I think OU is covering by early 3rd Q. Only cause for concern is a backdoor cover late in game is OU has it well in hand.

UGA -32 vs Arky State......Another tune-up game, but I expect Georgia to flat out dominate. 32 is a lot of points but I expect the cover.

Houston +9 vs Washington State......I expect a shootout, but I also think Hou has a chance to win this game. Houston looked good in second half against OU, and I think Holgorsen can build off that. D'Eriq King is the quickest/fastest QB in the country, and I expect he will give WSU defense all they can handle. My biggest concern is I don't think Houston's defense is very good, so it's all about Hou being able to match points.

Might make more sense to take Okla in the 1st half if you are worried about the back door cover. I think they cover both bc I think Houston has a good offense that made Okla defense look worse than it is.

Lots of uncertainty surrounding KSU and whether or not Woody Barrett will be starting for the first time.

May wait and see on that, but love these picks. Kentucky's new QB may be a bit more adept at hitting open receivers.

Actually thinking about taking the Colts +160 over the Titans. Opinions? I'm pretty much brand new to sports betting but I think the Colts can pull this off.

Take Akron +1 vs CMU. CMU coming off of a 1-11 year and their starting QB and RB are out, along with a few other guys. Got beat up pretty good at Wisconsin last week. Rumor has it Akron's coach is also going to make a few position changes I feel really good about.

Good start with a cover by Hou....one may say it was a bit of a backdoor cover, but Hou shit that game away with penalties and turnovers. Atrocious second half, but thankfully they kept it within 9.

Looking forward to the games tomorrow....

Put 100 to win $375 on the Twins losing by 5+ runs the other night (lost 12-6). Yan Gomes hit a 2-run HR with 2 outs in the top of the 9th to put them back over.

Ya boi over here doin' work.

I bet under 48.5 Bucs Panthers
Under 42.5 +190
Under 37 +350

Last one won with that goal line stand by the ferocious bucs defense.

I should’ve posted it but didn’t even see it until right before kickoff.

Do better, Dagger.
