this will be a fun first quarter (perhaps first half) to watch

i think we will be able to get a real feel for our offensive line from this game..the panthers possess arguably the best front 4 in all the nfl..

if our O-LINE can hold their own against those guys, I believe not only will it give us a good idea of what we can expect from them this season, but I believe it will set a tone for the upcoming season..

the panthers front 4
JUILIUS PEPPERS
MIKE RUCKER
BRENTSON BUCKNER
KRIS JENKINS

yes this will be a big test and the most fun game to watch this preseason. the panthers d is no joke but the rat birds is still better, so its not like the panthers have something that we have not seen before.

this is now the third consecutive week that our line has seen the 4-3 scheme, so that helps. i dont see peppers as a great lineman against the run so tucker or shelton, i believe tucker, will most likely pin that corner and look for green and ruben to get good runs. the pass protection will be the truest test because their ends are deadly.

on a side note it sounds as if lee suggs is out 2 plus weeks with an ankle sprain. who would have ever thought that he would have gotten hurt this year. green should get the start and prove his worth when the seasons opener presents itself.

Like ive been saying, Suggs will never be a feature back.

Green should get the nod again, prove his status. I think he is the best so far. But i wouldnt mind him and Ruben splitting carries.

Its time to deal Suggs.

i liked what i seen out of rueben the other day.. he hit the hole, and his one cut back was sharp..

i like william, but he is way to indecisive when he recieves the ball and looks for his holes...

I say deal Green since we already gave him permission to seek a trade. Suggs is better he hits holes harder I'm not going to applaud Green over 2 ok games. He is notorious for running horizontally and falling over for little to no gain or fumbling. Suggs has been hurt i'd prefer a guy being injured on the field to a guy being shanked by his wife. Anyway I think we are in for some serious trouble I hope Dilfer doesn't get hurt if Peppers goes unblocked on a play *shudders* I think we are going to have to make some good 10 yard short gain passes try some screens until their starters are out they have an equally dangerous secondary with Manning Gamble and company. It will be fun to watch but hey if we do lose we can be no less then .500 :)

Green is obviously the better back. He carried this team to the playoffs as a rookie, was having another good year in year 2 and had some mental lapses.

Suggs has proven nothing. Give any RB 20+ carries and he will get 100 yards for ya, he will never be a feature back. He is made out of glass. Injury prone.

Ship Suggs, keep Green and Rube.

cdt i am completely baffeld by your post. you want to trade a guy who is busting his ass and is playing pretty good over a guy who gets hurt every other week. that is stupid. what good is potential when he is never on the field to show it?

suggs fumbles way more than green. what are you talking about.

Busting his ass because he missed a full year because off the field problems. I dont like Green he did well as a rookie and thats it, he is playing well in preseason so what, I'd rather have a guy be hurt playing football then to miss a year because he cant put the crack pipe down. Green lost my respect then and I doubt he gets it back. Suggs is better end of story.

alright then, RUEBEN DROUGHNS it is..

atleast we're all on the same page here....

cdt get your facts right before you start posting. he didnt miss the entire year, he missed 7 games.

he never did crack, and his wife was the problem. you just dont get it.

would you rather have c. brown on your team or lang???

Green was suspended for alcohol....not drugs like crack or weed. A DUI is a strike on you if you are in the drug program.

Green was also having a very fine year before that as well, so it was more than his rookie year.

Suggs has had a chance to be the workhorse, he got us no where. He get's injured too much, bottom line.

He has some talent, like Andre Davis, but if you can't stay on the field then what good is he?

Suggs...Two years, 17 games. You do the math, he has already missed 15 games. And he is already injured this year!

Any way you slice it, Green is the better back.

Suggs hasnt matched Green's rookie year, last year wasnt even better stat wise than Green's second year.

Even last year, Suggs got a measly .1 yard better on YPC. Yet his vision is so much better, yet his speed is so much better.

Give me a break, Suggs is liked much like Couch was. You give him a little fan base, and he does good in one game and everybody loves him. Green messed up and everybody thinks he is trash.

Green has let his talking be done on the field and so far, he is right.

neither are on droughns's level

rube > the rest

A Denver system back?

Laughable at best right now...he was a joke before Denver, much like most backs and like most backs when they leave, they are garbage.

Rube has some nice size, some good power, quick to the hole but stats in Denver are like stats in college, they are meaningless.

you can go ahead and believe what you want, i don't really care... but the proof is in the numbers... RUBE > WILL > LEE

if this team wants a solid running game RUBE is the man-- also, william couldn't even catch a cold in the backfield much less a football... at least rube is a multi purpose back, that is more then you can say about those other two..

rube was a FB in detroit... and took over at FB for mike anderson in denver..he got his 1st chance last year and took advantage of it...

even portis had over 1300 yrds rushing last year in washington (behind their line)-- he had 1500+ in denver..

bottom line________ both william and lee are not that good.. just deal with it....

the proof is in the numbers people...

i think the problem here is that mac likes green to much and pippen like rube to much.

what we have to realize is that is dosent matter who is better or not, we should care that they produce above of what they have in the past and help our beloved brownies win.

btw-pipp u cant use greens rookie year because he wasnt used to the pro game for the first half of the year. the second half of the year he had 800 yards so he could have had 1,600 if he was a vet. right?
