Well Shaq, LeBron and Bosh were all trades...

I think it's kind of strange how much the national media have bent over backwards to say how classy Miami has been since LeBron has left. However, I have definitely not found that to be the case, whether it's online, on TV, on the radio or in person. In 2010 through 2013, they all said variations of things like they would "never act Cleveland" and they would simply "thank him for his time and wish him well." In fact, they have proven to be petty and small. The above quote, from a writer no less, is just one small example. There are many more that are way worse.

Ben Maller has been relentless.

Man... Spo just finished an interview where he said there was a real desperate 3 hours after LeBron released his letter where nobody was returning Riley's calls and they thought they were going to be left with Wade and replacements from Cuba. But then Bosh called back, then Deng talks progressed, and things started to look a little better.

But for Miami, all of their signings have probably felt monumental to them - I think everyone assumed that once LeBron left they were going to implode, but they didn't. So credit to them.

They may or may not implode, that probably will play out in the first 30 games or so of the season. I remember some Cavs fans talking like this in 2010. I sure didn't.

More sodium from Riley:

"Dwayne has been the franchise cornerstone for this team since the day he arrived eleven years ago. He has shown his commitment to the HEAT many times over the course of his career and has always been willing to sacrifice to build this the into a champion today was no exception. I am ecstatic to have him back in the fold andI am confident that Dwayne, as always, will be leading this team as we look to contend for NBA championships."

Because, ya know, that James kid was just a role player. Didn't really do much for the Heat when you think about it...

Wade and dent could miss entire seasons together with the decline they could take. It's a bandaid team.

I like how ESPN points out that the Heat have spent $215 million this off-season. That's a shitload of money to battle for seeds 6-8 for the next 5+ years.

Reminds me of Detroit splurging on Josh Smith and Jennings :chuckles:.

Riley messed up big time. He coddled Wade and treated LeBron like he was just another role player even though LeBron was the one who had carried the team in the last three years.
