Percy Harvin traded to NYJ

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
But are getting back nowhere near the value they gave up to get him in the 1st place. They got 6 games and 242 yards from scrimmage from him for 18.3 million dollars, a 1st, 3rd, and 7th rounder. Yikes.

No doubt the project didn't work out for them, but better to deal him for a pick than either cut him or keep him & risk him lashing out even more.

He blacked two players eyes during superbowl week. One was Golden Tate, I can't remember the others name. He swung at his QB... His production isn't worth the headache.

Oh, I agree. I think they were looking for ways to make his career last longer (especially with the report that came out earlier today about running him deep more) and realized he just isn't the same dynamic player, or worth the price he is being paid, when he isn't running those quick routes that get him into space, so they got something for him while they could. Especially when they have so many young players who are going to be asking for extensions soon.

I was waiting for the other shoe to drop ever since the Seahawks players intentionally penalized Harvin and erased those 3 almost touchdowns.

Guys like DeAnthony Thomas and Tavon Austin are on notice.

I always found Harvin to be overrated. Sure he's explosive when he has the ball in his hands but it seems like you have to go out of your way to scheme him to get the ball. Plus, he's frickin tiny and injury prone. He just can't stay on the field and he simply won't last long in the league, his body won't allow it.

Not sure if you're joking here. Harvin's teammates were definitely not taking penalties and points off the board in a close game just to get some kind of revenge on him. One of the flags was on Harvin himself. The other two, both on OG James Carpenter, were a holding call and an unnecessary roughness penalty that a lot of people, the Seahawks coaches included, thought was ticky-tack BS (though it did violate the rulebook's exact wording).

I think Harvin would have been a fantastic fit in Shanahan's offense, as we've already seen him utilize the smaller, quicker type receivers here, with Harvin being more talented than any of those current type of guys on the team.

I don't think he's worth the potential headache though.

Cameron is over-rated, as are most top TE's.

That's not to say that I would trade Cameron for Harvin. I wouldn't, because Harvin is a mess and injury prone. But talent for talent, I'd take Harvin.
