It is what he needed to do several years back. And I am happy for him and all Cleveland fans should be also.
In the modern era, a cutter is the workhorse pitch. Starters that don't throw them just stack the odds against themselves. That is why you see Biebs with one now also. It has to do with the speed, the movement profile, the inability for hitters to distinguish them and the distribution of pitches thrown in a game that is optimum.
