Pitching

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Your

Your opinion.

But don't tell me to STOP - I don't try to tell you that or anyone else on the board. What they have to say is their opinion and is as valid as mine.

He may turn out to be a FOR, no telling unless your crystal ball is that good. But he could be a BOR also and that is what I saw yesterday.

League doesn't have a fix on him yet. Enjoy the honeymoon period Tmac. Isn't going to last forever
I see, you can sell him as a FOR and it is just fine, but I can't comment differently.

The truth being known neither of us know and I can accept your opinion without telling you TO STOP, show some respect

How’s my ass taste?

Stay at home dad powers are wild.

:chuckle:

I kid, I kid.

And yes, my crystal ball is that good.

My kids made it for me during arts & crafts time out of aluminum foil and it allows me to harness my inner chi at a level not yet understood by man.
4th starter, at best!

You can't definitively peg a pitcher as anything....FOR, MOR, BOR, bullpen...by analyzing one freaking start, or even a season of starts.

There was a season in which the former Fausto Carmona looked pretty damn good, and one where Greg Maddux looked pretty damn bad...lol.

You also can't judge pitchers by body type, except maybe for lack of height.

We've seen very good skinny SPs who lasted a long time, and very good fat SPs who lasted a long time.

Even mechanics aren't always an indicator...although they usually are.

Eckersley lasted a long time with a motion that looked like he'd blow his arm out on every pitch.

At the moment TMac looks like what was hoped for when he was drafted. He has improved over the eight years since being drafted. He hasn't had a major health problem involving his elbow or shoulder...and he has thrown just over 140 IP in both of the last two years.

If he keeps up what he has been doing, he will garner some CY votes.

I am so sick of this hearing this garbage.

Cleveland showed its true colors in 2017.

We were coming off the 2016 World Series, had two MVP-caliber position players in Jose and Lindor, we had one of the greatest pitching staffs in the history of baseball, the best record in the American League, and we went on the longest win streak in the history of baseball, in the middle of summer with beautiful weather, and we still weren't selling out every game.

You had the absolute perfect storm and fans didn't show up.

It's clear that nothing the team does will change that--but some people continue to point at anything they don't like and say "See! That's why I'm not going!"

The truth is, no matter what the team does, you were never going to begin with.

Attendance:
2016 - 1,591,667
2017 - 2,048,138

a difference of 456,471 which equals an increase of 28.8% more people showing up in 2017 compared to 2016.

I think that counts as fans showing up.

Edit. I was trying to comment on your older post and it landed here. If I goofed sorry about that.

My specific point is that those games, during the absolute perfect storm of baseball, weren't sold out. You know, the sentence right before what you bolded.

You couldn't create a better scenario than that if you were God and just writing reality down on paper.

Well expecting them to be sold out was pretty optimistic on your part. And it wasn't quite the perfect storm, a better scenario would have been playing 2017 as defending world champs. It was an exciting time, one we are close to recapturing I think/hope.

A 28-29% increase in attendance from the previous year should be a good thing.. Yet it's still wasn't/isn't good enough for some of ya.

Cleveland logic loop.. Fans don't deserve this lean well oiled winning machine, and this team that hasn't won a WS since 1948 doesn't do enough to deserve a casual fan's hard earned money.

Making the areas surrounding the stadium a destination and more accessible, would surely help. One of the bummers about TMobile Park is the neighborhood for sure, but getting there is pretty easy even with transit.

Parking, transportation.. IMO there has been no shortage of legitimate fan gripes (specifically involving going to Progressive Field/tickets) just on this site alone.

And finally as pointed out by many others, this was set to be a rough fucking year. Name change, lockout, JRam rumors, projection, who's that guy? etc.

Let see how shitty the fans and owner(s) are in 2023. It seems fair to me.

TMac's velo this month would be his highest since his debut month August 2020. It went as low as 90.17 in June 2021 (only one game) and now is up to 93.09. Is this what we call the results of mechanical consistency?
