Possible Power Forwards

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Exactly Narl. WE can sign sign some respectable power forwards at around the veterans minimum to fill the void. Gooden can help us snatch a point guard, a position we are shallow in short and long term.

I respect Pioneer 10's position--resign Z, sign Redd, then trade Gooden and Sasha for a draft pick, Williams or Felton, who bolsters us at point guard. I'm just not sure we come off better talent-wise with this move. I like Gooden and Varejao at power forward better than Varejao and Traylor, and beyond that Traylor would have to play a lot of back-up minutes at power forward that, with his conditioning problem, would reduce the time he could back up Z at center. So I worry that such a trade would weaken the front court, which would be ok if Felton or Williams strengthened the back court. Are Felton and Williams "can't-miss" guys, or do we run the risk that we have to play Snow too many minutes at point next year? I'm not arguing, just asking.
Nice to see you back aaronr:
This is my dream offseason that is not a complete pipe dream :

Jax as coach, resign Z to a reasonable deal, sign Redd, trade Gooden for Deron Williams. I would add getting like someone like SAR would be a possiblity. I can't say enough how much signing Phil jackson to coach this team would be. Basically every player in the Nba would know that if you come to Cleveland you're going to play with an unselfish superstar and you're going to win BIG. So for a player like Redd who we would give big money to anyway, Jax would easily tip him over. Also a player like SAR who has made good money over the years but played on some crappy team. He and Brand have long been the best players never to make the playoffs. I think we could convince a guy like that to come over for less then his market value.
