Pregnancy thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When my (ex) sis-in-law had twins (boy & girl) one of her friends asked her if they were identical twins.

Drink lots of water while breastfeeding and try to sleep when your baby is sleeping if you can. At least sometimes.

My wife always tried to "get things done" while the baby was resting and that is a recipe for making sure you never get any rest.

You cannot have a standard for the state of the house like you did before you had the baby. You will get back to keeping it really nice, but 6mos to a year is the hardest time so cut yourself some slack. Also, just ask for people to help you. People want to help, but may not know how. So, if you give them explicit instructions of what you need that helps a lot.

Bit of sad news on the pregnancy. It was smooth sailing until this week, particularly Thursday night.

I started to get stabbing pains overnight. Hoped it was temporary. Tried to go into work for my Friday night shift...I lasted all of three hours. It got progressively worse. I spent most of the weekend hospitalized. The ER wait time was insane because I live in one of the most COVID-ridden cities in the nation, so husband and I left for Urgent Care. Found out I have a fibroid the size of an orange on my right side, where most of the extreme pain was; my little guy has now moved into a breech position. The fibroid has almost doubled in size since my pregnancy started. I haven't been able to do much of anything except take max dose Tylenol and lay around most of the time at home. My workplace has been generous in giving me a leave of absence. I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor today if I need surgery.

In the meantime, all I can do is stay largely in one position and keep taking Tylenol, which has helped only marginally (along with muscle relaxant). Husband has helped me with a lot of things and has been amazing. I really hope this nightmare ends soon. Definitely the most pain I've been through. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Update with good news: I was given tramadol for more severe pain. This stuff has worked wonders! I was finally given the okay to return to work today. Little guy is doing fine in spite of mother's pains. He was moving around a ton during Doppler today with a heart rate of 161 bpm. :)

I cannot picture you with daughters… and yet…, here we are.
Shockingly, my daughters are well adjusted. My 8 year old stands up to bullies, and nominated herself "Buddy bench monitor." She doesn't want kids to have no one to play with at recess, so she's always checking to see if someone is on the buddy bench needing a friend for the day.

How someone that came from jaded me has such a terrific outlook on the world is beyond me.
