Do Not Sell My Personal Information
31 weeks. Getting there! Less than two months to go now. Of course I'm scheduled to give birth around the same time the Cavs and the Thunder play each other twice :chuckle: I'll keep watching bball for as long as I can, but I'll surely become scarcer over time. If I disappear for several weeks/months around January, you'll know why, lol

Drink lots of water while breastfeeding and try to sleep when your baby is sleeping if you can. At least sometimes.

My wife always tried to "get things done" while the baby was resting and that is a recipe for making sure you never get any rest.

You cannot have a standard for the state of the house like you did before you had the baby. You will get back to keeping it really nice, but 6mos to a year is the hardest time so cut yourself some slack. Also, just ask for people to help you. People want to help, but may not know how. So, if you give them explicit instructions of what you need that helps a lot.
This is the best new mom advice you will ever get!!

If mom and mom inlaw both offer to help. Accept. But space it.. do your first week or two with your husband .. then a week of help, then a week , then another week of help.. by then you will be recovered an getting your rithym down..

And don't forget dad.. take turn on the night feed, diapers et al.. take all the back rubs and foot massages you can get!

Mom passed away in 2018, and mom-in-law isn't really physically able to help, but she's gotten us some gifts at least. Husband and I are both older parents, so our own folks are all either very old or passed away. I did bring up to husband that we'll likely need help in some form, though. He's considering some connections, since he's much more socially connected and more adept than I am, and knows more people, so hopefully we can get someone to assist when we need it. I know for sure we'll have to board up our three cats during childbirth week...we discussed that a bit today. And we've been discussing options for keeping things clean during the childcare times. He's not really that great around the house, so we'd both rather find someone who is...and for sure we'll need someone to help with the cat litter when our cats are no longer boarded, because husband just won't ever touch that chore with a 10 foot pole. lol.

He needs to because you absolutely shouldn't have been cleaning it while pregnant. Or get a few of the robot self cleaning litterboxes.

We are getting our first grandchild in may. They are considering a night nurse, which was not a thing when we were having kids, but apparently is a thing now..

Today is my daughter's first birthday...crazy.

Definitely try to take shifts, at least those first couple weeks. And turn your bedroom into a sleeping oasis. I bought a new mattress and adjustable bedframe before baby came, lol...though that has as much to do with chronic back issues. That and a weighted blanket and silicon earplugs.

I also recommend multiple sleeping options for baby. I would usually take the ~2AM thru morning shift and baby just slept in my office or family room while I worked or watched Netflix or whatever.

Facebook marketplace is your friend, you can get stuff for like 1/4 price which is nice because they outgrow things after a few months.

For soiled clothes, rinse off as much shit as you can, a toothbrush helps. Soak in Oxiclean overnight, then launder as normal. Good as new.

Stretchy bodysuits are fantastic, though pricier. They last longer because they stretch and they are easier to get baby in/out of.

Did some reading, played Switch, finished laundry. Now it's 5 pm, I'm exhausted, my body feels like it played tackle football, and I want to sleep for about 24 straight hours...except there's a little being in the tummy who wants to roll around and tickle me.

Yep, I'm not going to be very productive this month...lol

Someone give advice on how I can convince my gf to name our baby boy Maximus Decimus Meridius. So far she isn't on board.
