I have been listening to a lot of 80s and 90s stuff lately. Including some stuff that was less known in the States.

For today I chose to listen to Eletronic's Electronic. Electronic was a group formed by New Order's Bernard Sumner and the Smith's legendary guitarist Johnny Marr. With the occasional hand from Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant.

Electronic is a very pleasant early 90s album. It is a weird mix of Dance, Techno, Rock and New Wave. It works.

Pick a random album, folks, and report back.

I’m a sucker for the start of punk rock and its sarcastic, at-the-time controversial lyrics. The dead Kennedy’s were born in the bay. I discovered fresh fruit for rotten vegetables (album) through playing tony hawk’s pro skater at age 12 because Police Truck was on the game tracklist.

So smooth

One of my favorite old forgotten prog rock bands, and one that @The Oi hates the most. My mother in law told me she first dosed acid at a Tull concert. My respect level went through the roof considering she is my mother in law.

So well played!

I love Jethro Tull! It’s King Crimson I can’t stand.

They can't stand you either.

You rancid piece of pond scum.

Well I’d like to confirm for @The Human Q-Tip that my wife has come the fuck through and gotten me ELO tickets for their 2019 tour.

So pumped. They’ve sounded great too.

Q, let me know which venue you’re going to and post video.

I won't even mock you for this - feeling I had when seeing Crimson last year was special as hell. Front fucking row, too. Me, my buddy, and a couple thousand other white guys in their 50's and 60's....:chuckle:

That's only a slight exaggeration.

I saw ELO in 1983 in a twin bill with Kansas at the Naval Academy. ELO was pretty good - disappointed it was all keys and no actual strings though. Kansas was on absolute fire - last tour before they broke up.

Sad to hear of the passing of Stephen Hillenberg, creator of SpongeBob SquarePants and man of excellent rock tastes. He designed Beck's first two album covers pro bono. He also credited one of my favorite albums beginning to end with inspiring him as he created SpongeBob.

I'm taking the title literally:

Faith No More- Album of the Year (1997)

Was a little too wierd for me when it came out, happened upon the whole album on youtube a few months ago and was impressed with how well it has aged (and how much more I like it now vs then). Not the best FNM album but Cup of Sorrow remains my favorite. Naked In Front of the Computer was pretty forward-thinking. Several songs that were delightfully wierd, especially for 1997. Used to be the whole album, continuous on Youtube but they took it down :(

Love this thread idea!

Also, big Faith No More fan here, I found them later in life; but these songs still rock today.
