The Hurt Locker - 10/10

(Don't have a heart attack, Pip... Jake is okay :D)

This movie is about an American bomb-defusing squad in Iraq. Has pretty much everything you would want in a movie... Developed characters, great action, heart-pounding moments, etc. I highly recommend this to anyone when it comes out on DVD. It was released in theatres for awhile, then re-released after receiving great reviews and viewer demand.

For anyone interested in watching movies online- http://www.watch-movies-links.net/

So, you could watch that here- http://www.watch-movies-links.net/movies/the_hurt_locker/

The movies that just came out in theaters are usually shit quality.

I'd give the Hurt Locker 9.5/10. By the way, the movie actually features actors, but did follow around a bomb squad to get its inspiration. A lot of the Arab people are Iraqi refugees, though.

Best newer movie I've seen- Taking Chance 10/10. Absolutely amazing. Anyone else seen it?

Others:
Zombieland 7.5-8/10 (depending on what you were expecting.) I wasn't expecting much. Well, I was expecting to stop watching it 15 minutes in because it was going to be so dumb, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Damage (2010) 6/10 Dumb movie, but it's always fun to watch Steve Austin just beat the living hell out of people.

Couples Retreat - 8.5/10 I really liked it, Vince Vaughn was hilarious. The supporting cast was good as well. Some nice eye candy in the movie, a little too much of that foreign yoga dude...loved Ken Jeong's appearance though [Asian dude from hangover, role models, the goods, knocked up].

"Whoa dude you don't just pull an imaginary gun on your therapist, why don't you just holster that thing buddy."

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai A+

Underrated film imo by local boy Jim Jarmusch. Great performances by Forest Whitaker and the supporting cast. Just a really weird movie with interesting characters and music by the RZA. Gets better every time I watch it.

Synopsis from IMDB:

In Jersey City, an African American hit man follows "Hagakure: The Way of the Samurai." He lives alone, in simplicity with homing pigeons for company, calling himself Ghost Dog. His master, who saved his life eight years ago, is part of the local mob. When the boss' daughter witnesses one of Ghost Dog's hits, he becomes expendable. The first victims are his birds, and in response, Ghost Dog goes right at his attackers but does not want to harm his master or the young woman. On occasion, he talks with his best friend, a French-speaking Haitian who sells ice cream in the park, and with a child with whom he discusses books. Can he stay true to his code? And if he does, what is his fate?

Drag me to Hell

1/5

Thought it was terrible. Just too predictable and common. completely unwatchable even if it is a decent blu ray production.

I can't wait for Transformers 2 to come out Tuesday. Still haven't seen it and it is suppose to be unbelievable on blu-ray.

Katt Williams: Pimpadelic - 8.5/10

I dont know if it was an old stand up he was doing or a new one. It had a lot of his same old jokes in it, just a little diffrent. Some new stuff. Inbetween his stand up he was being interviewed, like a real talk interview, about "his family, career, god, his future and the state of the comedy business."

But if you've seen any of his old stuff, dont buy this. All the jokes are recycled

Stepfather 6/10

Switch out the Stepfather and "Old Guy Next Door" and this is Disturbia. Almost the same exact movie with really the only character being different was the killer.

Problematic teenager with a blonde girlfriend starts to suspect his new Stepfather of being a murderer vs Problematic teenager with blonde girfriend/neighbor suspects his next door neighbor of being a murderer.

Couples Retreat - 6/10. I wasn't bored during the movie but I wasn't entertained either. For such an all-star cast the movie fell far short of expectations.

Where the Wild Things are - 9.3/10. Pretty much biased since it was my 2nd favorite children's book, but what was done with it (and there wasn't much substance from the book to actually make a movie without adding anything) didn't tread on the atmosphere but super-enhanced. Good for a date, family outing, or just nostalgia.

The Surrogates: 5 out of 10.

Great concept which made me think. Unfortunately, I thought about things that had nothing to do with the story.
