Knives Out was predictable, and funny.
Mts. Tip and I saw that this past weekend, and really enjoyed it. Craig's over the top performance was hilarious.

Binging Peter O'Toole films.

My word, Beckett is fantastic. One of the best acted films in history.

Loved Dark Waters. I'm a Mark Ruffalo fan.

This looks infinitely more interesting than the reboot they tried a couple years ago.
That was sweet, and I like how they only slightly tweak the original effects.

A film made for everyone, but also a love letter to the fans.

Certainly a better tactic at building interest than shitting on the fanbase and blaming them for a shitty film.

'Cats' - Review Thread
Review embargo just lifted for Cats. Apparently it's purr-ty bad. This is getting absolutely destroyed by critics. Some of these reviews are legit "worst of the year" contenders. Lots of savage (and hilarious) 1/10 or 2/10 reviews. This movie just went from Oscar-hopeful to Razzies-favorite. It's a total trainwreck.
On the bright side, there will at least be some award-winning puns/memes to come out of this. Looks like the trailer backlash was warranted after all.

My eyes are burning. Oh God, my eyes.

Can you make a movie so bad that the Academy takes back your Best Director Oscar? Asking for Tom Hooper.

Cats is the worst thing to happen to cats since dogs.
Hollywood Reporter
Cat-astrophic.
LA Times
"Cats” is both a horror and an endurance test.
Slashfilm
There is a thin line between idiocy and genius, and Cats pukes a hairball on it and rubs its ass all over it.
Variety
Nine may not be enough lives for some of the stars to live down their involvement in this poorly conceived and executed adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical.
Little White Lies
I felt the light inside me slowly fading.
The Playlist
Once Tom Hooper's 110 minutes of Cats are over, theater is dead. And we unchosen ones are left, tragically, to continue living.
New York Times
It's amazing to see what Adult Swim can accomplish with a $100 million budget. I never knew Tom Hooper was capable of making a surrealist nightmare that would rival Jodorowsky, that could baffle David Lynch, that would prompt even the dark god Cthulhu to emit an impressed eldritch shriek of “nehehehehehe”

Can someone do a spoiler free quick review of The Rise of Skywalker? Is it a good movie? Good in a Super fan-service-y good kind of way? Both? Neither?

My ultra lazy review from talking to everyone I come across and my own opinion:

Did you hate The Last Jedi? Then you'll at least find this movie tolerable.

If you really liked TLJ? Then you'll absolutely hate this movie.

"Good" is a hard word to use. It's definitely something. But I enjoyed it more than TLJ and it didn't feel as long as it actually was.

Man Irishman is really good
The final hour is so heartbreaking. The first time I watched it, I couldn’t suspend enough disbelief with the de-aging app and having to convince myself that De Niro was playing a 30 year old. I just re-watched it though and truly loved it as a whole. It could very well be Scorsese‘s swan song, and the fact that he couldn’t get distribution for it is quite an indictment of the industry.

Anyone seen uncut gems?
Not reviewing it either way, but save your money. It's award season which means there are perfectly watchable screeners out there. Planned on watching uncut gems this weekend. Gotta do the Mr Rogers movie first tho.
