How is HBO Max able to give away the movie for free? I have HBO Max so i love it, watch Fast 9 then The Sucide Squad with my kids Friday/Saturday. $20 total, made popcorn, incredible family value.

How long will this last? There cant be profit for this right now is there? I mean before the early sale at home and HBO Max, i would have paid $100 total for the tickets and snacks and everthing and with snacks at home, i was maybe in it for $25.

OH and fast 9 was on brand, entertaining for the chase scenes, bit predictable story line, but "Its about family", lol. (inside joke with my kids)....And The Suicide Squad was awesome, hilarious, entertaining, just a good solid movie.

How much you pay a month for HBO Max?

This should moreso be directed towards Warner Brothers as they made the decision to release their movies to HBO and theaters ~concurrently.

Fast 9 is Universal I believe and that came to theaters maybe a month ago

At the moment, it's only a 2021 plan and they are for sure losing their fucking asses. But that would've happened even if they kept to theater only + way less people would have seen their movies.

Its free with my phone plan, but i was paying for HBO for $15. Have for years, and HBO Max is free with HBO.

I get HBO for the TV shows and the movies i didnt watch in the theatre 6 months later. HBO max is new and quite frankly an amazing free Bonus. My career ATT then decided to give it to me free as an incentive, which is Amazing since I already had it.

Now i have Direct TV because of football and Sunday Ticket, so that is expensive because Direct TV is very over priced imo.

The Green Knight

Smoke a bowl and watch this movie. Holy shit.

Visually incredible and narratively really fucking weird. Reminded me of Pan's Labyrinth, only with English folklore. I really can't overstate how gorgeously The Green Knight was shot.

Reminiscence is the latest WB movie to hit HBO Max. Directorial debut for Lisa Joy, who co-created Westworld (which went from great to awful) with her husband Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher Nolan)

Previews had me excited, seemed like it was drawing inspiration from both Westworld and Inception. But I could tell from the preview it would either be sneaky great or terrible.

Unfortunately, it was bad and the type of movie where the more I think about it, the more I dislike it.

Reminds me of another earlier WB HBO Max release, The Little Things, in the sense that there was a good movie in there somewhere but just missed the mark badly.

Yes! That movie was a massive disappointment. I felt like the previews basically covered the entire movie. Really nothing else happened.

I didnt hate The Little Things, didnt love it, but it was 2 hours of somewhat entertainment. I would have been pissed if i paid for it, but good enough i wasnt mad i watched it.

Have not watched Reminiscence yet, but after that review, i might not.

I enjoyed Jungle Cruise. Part of what I enjoyed is how much they took from the Disney ride, which I've been on quite a few times, dating back to 1971.

None of these reviews are valid because none of them are rating the movies on a 0.000-10 scale.

I hate giving numbers, especially for something I've only watched once (But then I turn around and check rotten tomatoes to help decide what to watch).

Part of my reluctance to assign a number is what should the numbers even be based on. Likelihood to watch again often has a whole different ranking than likelihood to win an award. And likelihood to watch again changes on 2nd or 3rd viewing.
