I can't believe Endgame hasn't passed it yet. What was going in in those Avatar theaters... Was Zoe Saldana virtually sitting in people laps or what?

It had multiple releases and the 3D technology was new at the time

Nevermind, saw that Derek said the same thing.

That's true.

Just realized that Saldana was in both films. Will be a good trivia question some day.

Endgame is only about $30 million short of breaking Avatar's record. Hopefully the re-release clinches it.

Also, has anyone seem Dark Phoenix yet?

I see that is bombing harder than the Luftwaffe during the Blitz. Only $60 million domestic after three weeks.

It finished in 9th place this weekend. It only made $3 million this weekend. Endgame was making that an hour when it opened.

This is a catastrophic release. It is bombing harder than any Marvel-based film since the first X-Men came out.

As a person in their mid 20s, I cried during Toy story 4. It basically ended my childhood. 9.3/10

To do it Dark Phoenix right they needed to set that shit up with smaller individuals films such as the "Hellfire Club Reborn", The "Shi'Ar" and then end it with Dark Phoenix.

The best part of X-men is the individuals and they're own issues while trying to navigate the balance of growing up, and the pull of the dark side aka Magneto. So hit and miss with the movies

Dark Phoenix is terrible. It completely ignores every element of the original story that made it special. Frankly, it is Dark Phoenix in name only. It is easily the worst comic based film I have watched in the past decade. They never once refer to the Phoenix Force in the movie. There is also no build up in the film. Jean goes full on destructive about 10 minutes in or so. It is just damn silly. You miss all of the emotional characterization for the other members of the X-Men. It is totally missing from the film. It is like reading an account written by a metal spoon trying to explain to you how sugar tastes because it touched some once. It is a lifeless abomination.

Big Lebowski is getting a Jesus Quintana spinoff, "Going Places," which is also sort of a remake of a 1970s film of that name.

Been in the works a few years, but should be at film festivals later this year and in theaters next year.

One of the oddities is that it apparently establishes that Tuturro's character was framed for his horrific sex offense crime?

That's how I felt about 3. I'm basically Andy from an age stand point. Was 6 when the original came out. IMO 4 is a huge cash grab. 3 was the perfect ending to the trilogy.

Idk if you saw 4, but I thought 4 rapped up the series better.

Havent seen it yet. We just had a kid 3 months ago, so we may try and brave the drive in this weekend.

Good to know. I cried twice during 3. I legitimately thought they were going to be killed off lol. Then when Andy gave up his toys and gave everyone a curtain call.
