Rate the last movie you saw

Decided to check out Uncut Gems on Netflix this past Friday. Very frenetic movie that reaches sensory overload at certain points. Definitely a departure from the usual crime drama. I didn't think it was bad, but certainly wouldn't hold it in the regard movie critics did last year.

My wife absolutely hated it :chuckle:

Yeah, I found it to just be OK. I think it did a great job at doing what it wanted (stressing the shit out of the viewer), but just not what I look for in a movie. Sandler's performance was great but his character was such a loser piece of shit that I found it hard to give a shit about him. In awe of Julia Fox's ass, good lord. I thought KG was kind of awful.

Not the last thing I saw but gotta give it a shout out. The Last Kingdom on Netflix is awesome. 10/10 for me. I have watched all 4 seasons so many times I can repeat the lines. If you are into medieval time period stuff this is a must watch.

It's a great show. We've talked a bit about it in the TV thread.

0 out of 10 - The Assistant (starting Julia Garner, Ruth in Ozark)

We bought it instead of renting it because it had 92 tomatoes. I watched the whole thing because I didn't want to stop watching before the good part.

It never came.

After watching I saw the average viewer rating was 1.6 out of 5, which is way too high.

Mulan was really good. I think it was the best of the live-action remakes so far.

There was quite a lot of fight scenes with swordplay and such. It seemed to be geared more towards the 8+ age group. Little kids might not like it as much.

Ok Tenet was really good, but even for Nolan it was a bit too confusing. I don't want to HAVE to watch the movie 2 or 3 times to understand it, and I feel like, unless you're taking notes and rewinding the movie on first viewing, you simply won't get a lot of it.

And the ending still doesn't make sense even after I've read about it online. SPOILERS AHEAD:

Why the hell did they HAVE to get the Algorithm that day? They knew where he was gonna bury it. Just go...the next day and start digging it up? Still don't get that.

This may shock some of you, and I don't want to spoil anything, but Bill and Ted Face the Music was really, really
bad.

I thought is was more or less on par with the first two.

It did need more Death.

Haven't watched it yet, but this is actually the first negative review I have seen. I've heard nothing but positive things. Interested to check it out.

Yeah, I guess I'm not sure where the expectations go for a movie based on Bill and Ted. I guess it met my expectations.

The first Bill & Ted’s is an excellent comedy and always worth a view.

The second Bill & Ted’s is awful — I mean really, really awful.

The third “movie”, I have not seen and do not plan on watching it. The previews were enough to tell me it would be the equivalent of watching a dog take a shit on the hot sidewalk here in NYC.

I've heard it's close to the first one and much better than the second one.

The previews were admittedly awful, which increased my shock when I started seeing such good reviews (over 80% on rotten tomatoes at last check).

I have heard it's a very feel-good movie, which likely helps its rating in not so feel-good time. I'll probably check it out sometime this week.
