Ray Rice suspended & cut - trouble for Goodell?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sorry, I'm not gonna feel sorry for Ray Rice in any of this.

Just because he owned up to it, that's supposed to mean I'm supposed to feel sorry for him? Give me a break. People sticking up for this guy is making me absolutely sick.

I'm just not going to spend 8hrs reading that whole article. Is there anything in there that would effect Ravens draft picks or cause Ozzie or Harbaugh to get canned?

Can't decide if this will unite the Ravens on Sunday or be a distraction.

Oh, there's plenty in there that should effect the Ravens negatively. How is another question, but basically they knew there was a video from inside the elevator very early in the process and basically swept everything under the rug, then convinced Goodell & the NFL to give Rice no more than a 2 game suspension.

Baltimore's owner is tight with Goodell, as are Rooney & Mara, the 2 owners helping in the investigation.

If half the things in that ESPN article are true, essentially the entire Ravens front office is in danger of being canned.

sticking up for the guy? He doesnt deserve a lifetime ban and has been a pawn in some form or another to all the parties involved

but lets go back to chopping off hands off people who steal or more recently hangin people for stealing cattle.

lets go back to stoning women for prostitution.

how bout the NFL adapt a zero tolerance policy to all violence.
there was no bruising, no blood and no repeated attacks.
The video formatting that everyone watches is edited and it replays everything in slow motion something that happened in an instant

its sensationalism

it was a simple assault. and a mistake tis guy has to live with.

this is a first time offense and the NFL personal conduct rule indicates this didnt warrant an indefinite suspension

its take two to tango. this woman slapped rice and spit on him and proceeded to lunge at him and he made an instant thoughtless reaction while intoxicated. I dont see people coming forward about previous incident and there was no damage done outside of the woman being unconscious and groggy.. a woman who was also extremely intoxicated.

He was a pawn because he was a coward & hit a woman, knocked her unconscious, got pissed off at her when she wouldn't wake up, then dragged her unconscious body out of the elevator by her hair.. You do realize that he wouldn't have been a pawn if he wouldn't have actually done it to begin with, right?

Those analogies are so ridiculous it's not even funny. Actually, it is pretty funny that you even brought them up...

This isn't some bar fight where 2 guys got into it. Domestic violence is a serious issue. I don't care how drunk either party is, he's strong enough to hold her off if she's lunging at him. If you're drunk, you still know who your wife is.

As far as the part of your post I bolded, do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?! No damage done outside of him knocking her the hell out.. Really dude?

yeah ive been knocked out by a sucker punch.not that bad. ive also been pinned down and punched repeatedly conscious... much much much worse

on a side note

Cardinals’ Jonathan Dwyer arrested in domestic violence incident

Another NFL player is facing a domestic violence accusation.

Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer has been accused of domestic violence stemming from an incident with his wife, according to Tyler Baldwin of 3 TV in Phoenix. That report says the fight with his wife happened “a while ago,” but she kept records of her injuries. Phoenix TV station KTAR reports that Dwyer was pulled from practice today and questioned at Phoenix Police headquarters.

Dwyer was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911 in a domestic violence incident, according to the CBS Evening News Twitter account. A police spokesman told the Arizona Republic that Dwyer was arrested.

The incident comes at a time when domestic violence cases have shaken the NFL, eroded fans’ trust and threatened the job of Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The 25-year-old Dwyer is in his first season with the Cardinals after spending the previous four seasons with the Steelers. He has played in both of the Cardinals’ games this season and has 16 carries for 51 yards. Because he’s not a star player (unlike other accused players like Ray Rice, Greg Hardy and Adrian Peterson), it wouldn’t be at all surprising for the Cardinals simply to cut him and try to get this case behind them as soon as possible.

Of course, if the Cardinals do cut Dwyer, the next man up on the roster would likely be practice squad running back Chris Rainey — who has had two separate domestic violence incidents, one in college that got him kicked off the team at Florida, and one in the NFL that got him cut by the Steelers. Which serves as a reminder that the NFL has to do a whole lot more to get domestic abusers out of the league.
