RCF Dynasty Football League

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
'the value of a defensive player should not be measured by tackles and stuff like that and it creates the "fantasy fans" that think a 3-4 DE can't be among the best in the NFL because his "stats" don't compare to a 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB.

I prefer to draft defenses rather than individual players. I also don't think the scoring system for defensive players is very fair. Should the best corner back in the league really not be one of the 50 best IDP players? I just think it's a waste of time, personally and WAYYYYY more luck then offensive players.

I'd be way more in favor of having a crazy deep offensive side of the ball where people can even add college guys to their "futures" squad, but IDP is the bane of my existence lol. I'll play either way, though.

Some things to consider: My personal preferences
  • PPR, .5 PPR, or standard scoring - STANDARD but 2QBs start
  • Do we want to include IDPs? - NO
  • Roster size? - 30 PLAYERS which includes a practice squad of 6 guys (so 24-6)
  • Do we want full keepers or to have some minor roster cuts at the end of the year, which bolsters the rookie/FA draft? - I say each team gets to keep every player on their full roster OR 18 out of 24 on full roster, and entire practice squad OR 4 out of 6 on practice squad)
  • Superflex? - WR/TE/RB only since we already did 2 QB
  • Should there be a TE premium (as in TEs get more PPR than WRs)? - NO
  • Do we want a taxi squad? - Yes, 6 man practice squad
  • If so, what players should be eligible for the taxi squad? any Rookie or Second year player can be freely transferred between first and second team until they've made a start on the full team.
  • Live draft or email draft? LIVE
We should shoot for 10 teams. 30 players total per team. Normal starting lineup of QB-QB-WR-WR-WR-RB-RB-TE- WR/RB/TE/-K-DST (so 11 starters, 13 bench, 6 practice)

I prefer superflex to 2QB simply because it gives you the option of starting another position if you have a QB on bye week or one of your QBs gets hurt. It basically gives the same value to QBs as a 2QB league but gives teams a bit more flexibility to account for the fact that there are only 32 starting QBs in the NFL.

Fair enough logic. Cool with it. The reason I personally enjoy 2 QB is for the exact reason you dislike it. in a Dynasty league with 2QBs playing, the position becomes absolutely paramount. Taking 2 QBs plus drafting well in terms of promising rookies can make or break years.

Totally understand using the superflex instead, though.

The position is still basically paramount in superflex, as any team starting two QBs has a massive advantage over a team starting their WR3 or WR4 there instead. WR3s tend to average about 10-12 points a game. QB2s average 16-20.

The only reason I prefer superflex is that it gives you the option of not entirely punting on a roster spot if you don't have two healthy starting QBs in a given week. The QB position is still every bit as important. I am near the end of a superflex dynasty draft right now (email draft so it's taken several days), actually, and eleven QBs were drafted in the first three rounds, so the position is obviously much more important than it would be in a standard draft where maybe four of those QBs would have been drafted in that same span.

What are we at now? 6?

Think we can pull 6 more in? I think 10 is certainly achievable.

Ive never done a dynasty. Sounds like fun.

Ill play if people like to wheel and deal.

Trades are the biggest reason I play fantasy football.

I think you'll find that trading happens much more in dynasty than in re-draft simply because dynasty allows you various strategies for how to play. In re-draft, every year you have a single goal: to win that year. If your team is ravaged by injuries, you're fucked and the fun is over.

In dynasty, yes, your team can still be ravaged by injuries, but all that does is change your strategy. You can tank in dynasty and it is viable since the rookie draft order is determined by record each year. You can trade away veterans for more draft capital or younger players. If you're trying to win now, you can flip younger assets for win-now pieces with a shorter shelf life. I currently have no 2018 first in my other dynasty league because I flipped it in a package for Sammy Watkins, so naturally I am going all in to win this year and am in the process of exploring other trades to facilitate that.

Anyway, I'll send you the join info.

We should do a nominal amount of money to play, either in the form of a trophy or to get the winner something. Might make people more committed?

I mean, the other league here is free and people are committed to that. I'm not too worried. I think most of us try to win even when the league is free.
