I think Andres is actually WAY above Jose this year for my MVP. Not that I'd project it to repeat next year, but he's simply provided more value, due to more timely offensive production (4.33 vs 2.32 WPA), and better defense. I am a fan of using WPA for defending MVP choices because we are talking about direct impact on the team winning ball games. Repeatability doesn't matter much for me. Next year is a new season and we can reflect on results then.
IMO 2-4 are a lot tricker as well as maybe after that...
Jose, Bieber, and Clase each have an argument to be that #2 choice for me. Again, timing is the key with Clase. He has provided results when they matter in games despite obviously pitching less innings. He is the WPA leader of the group. Biebs has been the general most valuable pitcher when you take away context. Jose still is putting up solid offensive numbers and above average defense, and might be considered as more of a team leader now.
TMac goes next for me. 186 IP of 2.99 ERA ball. You can't really argue with that too much. You can post FIP etc and say it's the defense and to some degree it is but even with a defensive adjustment he would still have better ERA than his fielding-independent metrics should say.
Kwan is not in my top 5, but he's probably #6, with Quantrill #7. Not to take away what he's done this year but our top 5 has just been that good.
My votes are Andres, Jose, and Clase. (Sorry Biebs)
