I know people appreciate games for different reasons. Some like games that require a lot of strategy and planning. Other people simply like to blow shit up! Some people like open world games. Some like well-conceived plots and story lines.

One of my big things with games is the graphics. I like games that are visually stunning. As technology marches inexorably forward, CG is beginning to advance to the point where true photorealism is only a few steps away from becoming a reality. Case in point: some of today's "NextGen" games. The graphics on some of them are breathtaking.

So just like the title says, post any realistic or lifelike looking screenshots you've managed to capture or have taken the time to create through modding the original game. For reference, please post the name of the game as well.

I'm at work now, but I'll try to post some more of mine sometime later this evening. But in the meantime, I'll leave you with one image - a head shot of one of my main characters from Skyrim. I think most of you will agree that she is not your average looking Skyrim character. I've spent hours modding my game and meticulously sculpting her from scratch to make her both beautiful and realistic looking.

Wait... you do 3D modelling work?

Why the fuck didn't you tell me this before?!

p.s.
Does this model have sex poses and realistic IK jiggle?

Because I'm just an amateur (and a lousy one at that). I haven't had any formal training or education. All self-taught.

p.s.
Does this model have sex poses and realistic IK jiggle?

Keep in mind the model works within the confines of Skyrim, so it can do any poses that are found in any mod for the game (such as Halo's Poses) and it uses some HDT Physics extensions so it does have jiggle and "weight" simulation to it. So sex simulation would definitely be possible.

Why? You interested? :chuckle:

I don't think he modeled this himself. I think he just modded his skyrim. You can create some amazing screenshots with a modded skyrim.

Is there a mod where I can insert a CGI version of myself into the game to run around and bully you guys for being dorks?

Actually, it's some of both. My Skyrim is modded (with lots of personal tweaks), and I've done some actual modeling of my character... as in, I've done extensive manipulation of both the mesh and the textures. There are two main body mesh types (called "UNP" and "CBBE"). I used the basic UNP mesh as a template and then created my own mesh type from it using two mesh programs called Nifskope and Bodyslide. I also have done extensive alteration of the basic head mesh using ECE. Additionally, I created my own skin textures using Photoshop.

So my version of Skyrim is both modded and highly personalized... much more so than somebody who has merely added a bunch of pre-made mods.

Yeah, some of those screenshots are good, but my Skyrim looks better. Seriously.
Those screenshots are three years old, so we have to keep that in mind. Graphics hardware has been pushed much further in that time frame. With that said, let's see your stuff!

I've been familiar with Gionight's stuff for several years. He's got a very good cinematic eye, so his images always have a great sense of composition and action to them and his two main ENBs have been tweaked to augment that style. Lots of overly vibrant colors and high contrast.

Now, while I love his images and like the cinematic feel, I've tended more toward "realism" if that makes any sense. So my images may not have the "wow" factor that his do. But look at some of these and tell me they aren't borderline photo-realistic:

Notice the subtle wetness and "drippiness" of the sweat on her chest and the texture of the dress fabric (both are my personal creations):

My "goth" character... notice the subtle moles, freckles and pores on the face:

Could've been taken with a Canon in the clover patch in my side yard:

I mean, c'mon... the play of light and shadow off the skin:

The way the slivers of light hit the rock wall, and the wall itself... a quick glance would easily mistake this for a photo:

I've fooled two people with this image... they swear that this is a photo and not a screenshot from my game:

One thing that bothered me about that guy was that he wouldn't share his enb settings. That is just really selfish to me to show off all your cool shit and be like " it's only for me!" What kind of frame-rate are you getting with your settings?

@Cratylus do you have an HDR TV? I imagine pretty soon the new Xbox and PS4 games are gonna look spectacular on there.

I just bought an HDR TV, but don't have the funds yet to replace everything in my home theater. But hopefully by the time I do, there will be a bunch of HDR titles out. Those should look gorgeous.

Gionight is definitely an artist with his images, so part of me gets the fact that he doesn't share his settings. But I get what you mean. The way he posts them... he seems like he's being a douchy prick a lot of the time.

My framerates depend on a lot of what's going on in-game, but generally outdoors I get around 45-50 fps consistently... unless I'm in a high grass area (like the fields to the west of Whiterun) where it'll dip to around 20-23 fps if there are a lot of NPCs and animals around. Interiors I'm golden. Almost never drops below 60 fps.
