I thought about some trade ideas for Michael Redd and I actually put something together that works out financially.
Cavs Recieve:
Michael Redd
Dan Gadzuric
Bucks Recieve:
Anderson Varejao
Wally Szerbiack
Damon Jones
2nd Rd Pick next yr (Bulls)
This allows the Bucks to get a young, energetic big man, along with 2 expiring contracts. Those contracts should clear about 16-17 million off their books next year. The Bucks' current cap number is about $62 million, and if they shave off 17 million, they could easily sign a top notch free agent. The Bucks know they are not going to win anytime soon with the team they have, so they might as well clear cap space, and get an extra 2nd round pick. Andy can opt out of his contract after next year, which also gives them some more wiggle room. Also, they rid themselves of the contract of Dan Gadzuric who has not done much in Milwaukee. I know in terms of talent the trade does not work, but the Bucks know they are rebuilding, and there is no point in paying a guy like Michael Redd a lot of money when you know you won't win. The Cavaliers aquire a great shooter, and someone who defenses MUST pay attention to. If the Cavs do somehow acquire Redd, they have to use their draft pick on a big man.
