Sarcasm of course, but after reading ESPN's "10 most likely players to be traded" in addition to our very own Ira Newble appearing on the list, a one Mr. Hakim Warrick recieved the following blurb:

4. Hakim Warrick, Grizzlies
After a five-game stretch in which he played very little, the Grizzlies have been showcasing him to a degree in their past two games as word has circulated around the league that the third-year forward does not fit into the Grizzlies' long-term plans.

There are still plenty of teams willing to take a shot on Warrick's upside, which means Memphis can get true value in return.

I welcome you with open arms Mr. Warrick. Who doesn't want a highlight reel dunker with a good midrange game and some length to put around Lebron. Sure he weighs 12 pounds soaking wet, and isn't exactly known for his defense, but I'm willing to overlook that for plays like this.

If it keeps Hot Buttered Donald on the bench ??? I'm on board...

If we can't get the real Stromile Swift, lets get the poor mans version.. :woot:

They can take Marshall, as well. :)

I like Warrick, I'd welcome him..we can always use athletes, they work well with Bron.

That song makes me want to just walk into a supermarket in my boxers and just krump down the frozen food aisle.

obviously i'd like to turn newble into more, but maybe a newble/shannon for stoudamire/hak deal.

I'm on the Warrick bandwagon for the last 2 years....

Warrick is a decent player but I'm not sure where he would fit with the Cavs. He's pretty much a tweener--not really a SF or a PF. He also isn't the greatest perimeter shooter and that's a quality the Cavs still need.

He's got talent but I'd look elsewhere if a move gets made to try to find a better fit.

agreed on most points Narl, as I don't think making a deal to acquire him should be a stand alone move. but if we do end up dealing with memphis, I'd love to get him in the mix.

as for his knocks, he can't guard most NBA 3's as he's not as fast laterally as you need to be. And he's small to guard most fours that are bangers. so he'd definitely be a role player with this squad used situationally. but what he can do is score in bunches on pick and pops and transition. he's a solid offensive role player. his effective jump shooting range is out to about where Drew's effective range is.

His knocks are his d and his tendency to dominate the ball in order to set up his shot or drive (remind you of anyone *cough* shannon). Don't get me wrong. As a stand alone deal, there's not much we have to give for him that I'd want to part with. But I don't think we'd have to give up a lot to get him if we end up turning to point guard heavy memphis for a deal that would include one of their other players as the main piece. I simply wouldn't mind having someone who can score in bunches and run the floor as a role player if we'd essentially be able to get him in a deal that would bring us an upgrade at point guard or Mike Miller as well.

Memphis has some intriguing players:

PG's
Mike Miller
and for me Hakim makes the list cause he doesn't fit their needs (a defensive big) and he's a sentimental favorite of mine who makes exciting plays

I don't think we'd see miller if we didn't move a draft pick and I'm not particularly high on that, but then a boy can dream of Warrick in wine and gold.
