I feel like my days are now spent waiting to see if they finally announce more information on the name change, and waiting to see what the audience situation for the 50th season of The Price Is Right will be. :chuckle:

Pollocks as in people from Poland. If the Indians don’t want to be honored, us Poles will gladly take the honor

"Polacks" is a derogatory term for a group of people. It's in the same category as "redskins", "micks", etc. We all know it's not happening so let's move on.

Pollocks are apparently fish. I don't think that name is in the running, and I doubt it ever was.

Can we not be racist and incendiary in here?

To mischaracterize the problems with team's name and its history as "Indians don't want to be honored" is evil.

And no, I'd rather not have racist caricatures of me with every Polish trope thrown at it for the next century.

Not so sure about The Squires nickname. Essentially, a squire is a male attendant to either a knight or lady.

Edit add: Rather go with The Dukes (not that I like it that much, but better than Squires)

The "Daisy Dukes" could make for a more interesting mascot.
