My first choice was Spiders but I'll take Guardians. Love the connection to the city. Is it safe and market-tested? You bet your sweet ass.

Logo = meh. I have ADVE students who could do better. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Font ain't bad. Eager to see real uniforms.

I agree they should have moved on from the red in the color scheme, but apparently, according to one article, keeping the RW&B was exceedingly popular.

New branding already appearing inside the ballpark.

Honestly I think the script Guardians is dead on. The name is Meh, but safe seems better than some of the other names.

The G with the baseball symbol really is awful. I hate it. But everything else is well done.

We're still the Indians for this year. I hope they don't get rid of all the Indians stuff and replace it with Guardians.

It would be pretty cool if the TVs showed like an Indians logo morphing into the Guardians logo.

I have family in Tucson. Watch your back…

@Andrew Scheid still claims (and understandably so) he's not concerned about Zimmer reaching 2 WAR this season. He's currently at .6 fWAR, but I am on the record of rooting for it to happen and plan on filming the zapping if/when it occurs.
It’s too bad his defensive metrics have fallen off from earlier in his career. Shockingly, his WAR is currently buoyed by his offensive production.

Exactly, I think they purposely took it from the movie.
It could come back to haunt them. The GIFs of motivational cutouts of teams “cheap” owner is just disturbing.

I spent a week vacationing with my family in Northeast Ohio a few weeks ago. Caught a game against the Astros at Progressive. I'll also add that I bought both of my kids new "C" hats for the game in Cleveland and the Tribe game we just caught in Oakland.

I definitely felt the strong resistance to changing the name the whole time. I get it that people either not only didn't like having to change, but also had a preference besides Guardians.

For me personally, I'm glad the franchise is moving on. Refusing to move on aligns with Daniel Snyder in the national consciousnesses, and that is a step removed from aligning with Donald Sterling.

For what it's worth, I've had four people who have no Cleveland connections reach out to me saying the new name is great. I didn't expect that last night!
