Since there is a precedent...actually two.

The Naps were named after Napoleon Lajoie, who was the manager. The Browns were named after Paul Brown, the founder and head coach.

How about the Titos?

Technically, our manager's name is Terry, but many people call him Tito, after his father.

The org could then work out a deal with Tito's vodka, which BTW is the best selling spirit in the USA.

(Note...I only drink vodka in Bloody Marys.)

My hope is that the new name has an historic connection to Cleveland.

Most of the names listed do not.

I'm sure he also approves of the name "Tito's"

An incredibly low bar indeed.

I’m confused. What is the issue?? I don’t see this graphic on the team page, Twitter or this shirt on mlb shop.

I guess the shirt, but honestly I think people are making a way bigger deal out of it than necessary at the end of the day...

Agreed. But I won’t discuss this when your objective is so obviously rooted in bad faith.

Just as we expect the team to have standards on the field, I expect them (and MLB) to have standards off the field.

Is this another issue of digging up old tweets or was this tweeted out earlier this week??

From what I can tell, it sounds like someone brought up something they believe was sold on MLB.com and talked about it. So it was a new tweet, but then someone responded with the info it was actually last sold in 17 and no longer in regular retailers after that. So sounds like he believe they were still sold and because of the issues with the Indians being not politically good anymore, my guess he was kind of snowflaking that MLB shouldn't have this. (But don't quote me on it since I am just going by what I can read/see)

So someone (s) trying to make something out of nothing. Got it. Geze wonder why they’d do that.
While looking at the Indians online store, all the new Nike stuff says Cleveland Baseball now.

I wish I could delete this thread from my sight because it will ultimately go down a forbidden road that will not be tolerated. It has already started to do so and I'm not biting so good luck to you fine folks no matter what your views are.

A certain poster brought it up. I honestly was curious if it was new or just more crying. I couldn’t find it anywhere recently so I asked.

Over and done with now.
