Why does Dolan think this is such an arduous process? Decide on a name very soon, whether it's done internally or in accordance with the fans, and begin the transition. This shouldn't take several years.

People are so invested in process. Who cares whether it's next year or the year after? I can't imagine having a strong opinion on that. If they're delaying it, I would assume there's a good reason.

Choosing the name of the team is a "sellable" attribute. More value/less risk letting the new owner take this on.

Oh and I am totally on board with the team name being "Cleveland" and nothing more.

2023 is also the lease is up. I also doubt anyone of substance is on the books that year.

So I’ve been 100% converted to Municipals. Just wow.

Why would they be the Munis and not the Pals?

I don’t quite understand the appeal. The uniforms look almost identical to the current ones and the name is a reference to a stadium that hasn’t existed for over a quarter of a century.
And not to mention they reached historic levels of terrible at said stadium.

Seems like people like the name because it reminds them of the parking lot they go to dunk their heads in piss before watching the Browns get assblasted by the Steelers. All that, still like it better than Spiders.

I don’t like the Municipals name. What I did like from that particular proposal was the way it incorporated different aspects of Cleveland baseball history into the branding. The C in the shape of Municipal Stadium, the two stars representing the Indians championships, the nickname letter inside of the C as an homage to the Cleveland Buckeyes. All good things to work with there, with a better name of course. That’s what I’m hoping for with the new name and branding. A completely new name that breaks away from anything we’ve had before, but some subtle nods to the past built in.
