Assuming all of this is accurate, it really does make this entire season even more perplexing and frustrating from both directions.

Impossible to say. Could just be a damage control piece.

I know you’ve voiced that it might be time to move on from Mayfield regardless of if we find an upgrade. Maybe the Browns aren’t quite willing to go that far.

So this to me is simply the organization calming down the recent choppiness in case he is our best option for 2022.

I’m not putting too much stock in this. I think this is just a prudent move from the organization regardless.

Rapaport confirms much of the MKC report.

I just looked at it too. Good question.

The suit requested a six figure settlement from Watson and he rejected it. That confuses me. At this point, Watson is in his prime; time is more valuable than whether the allegations are true or not. Why not pay it and move on with your career? That's what Roethlisberger did. Watson has many endorsement deals and signed that recent contract worth $113 million guaranteed. Six figures is nothing to him.
I'm not sure what you read but when I looked into it a couple of weeks ago, Watson had an agreement to settle with like 18 of the 22 or something. However 4 of them still wanted to go to court.

However the FBI got involved at one point in the investigation. Currently we are waiting to hear the outcome of the grand jury and if criminal charges will be pressed and if so what those look like.

That part is crazy too, that he flew women across state lines to get his fix. Incomprehensible.

I’m hoping this is a BS piece put out there to deflect attention & calm the waters. Surely, the Browns can’t be dumb enough to run it back with Baker & Case at QB, after how this year went? AB & Depo are too smart for that, right? (Someone please reassure me)

you are absolutely and 100% correct.

Im pretty sure the browns are going to cut keenum for the cap savings

Feel better?

Nope. Not unless they bring in someone to replace Case who can compete with Baker for the starting job.

I would point out both MKC and Rap said there will be no negotiations on a new contract.

Clearly the Browns aren't out on upgrading on Baker, and this is more of a "well, what else can we do" type of thing.

?????

are you saying the browns are going to fire KS and then trade Baker?
Think the point is that just because a credible media source presented "news", it is still extremely early and a lot can change. Case in point, Eagles and Carson Wentz nearly 1 year ago exactly.

No fan, depending on where they stand, should be popping champagne or driving to the nearest cliff based off of this "news"

White Slave Traffic Act. Used against Heavyweight Champ Jack Johnson, among others. Originally forbade the transportation of women across states for “immoral purposes” - not just prostitution, was used for cases of “debauchery” as well.
