Ricky Rubio - Take the Money and Limp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I agree the OT games pushed the number higher, but it's still an excuse rather than an ideal. Last season, the Cavs rode their stars to a great record before the All Star break, but Garland, Levert and Allen were broken down entering the playoffs. Utilizing backcourt depth now does pay off later. Steph Curry played 34 minutes a night last season to lead the champs, but also took 18 load management games off.
I'll manage your load

I really hope his athleticism isn’t completely gone. Rubio never really relied on it but he was shifty and fast when needed. If he can’t accelerate to that 2nd and 3rd hear anymore he will be a worse PG.
I actually thought Klay and KD were both toast after their injuries and they were worse than Ricky. I was wrong. I'm done doubting modern medicine.

In fact, look what I idiotically posted here about KD. Ooops.

I wouldn't mind resting one of them at a time. It's just resting both is something you shouldn't do, especially with no injury, IMO. It worked against Detroit but I could see some ugly games. And winning while you are healthy is important since we might have real injuries later on - no matter how tired or fresh anyone is.

My favorite song about load management is a number called "The Weight" by the Band. It's about taking loads from Fanny in Pennsylvania. I've been told there are allusions to the afterlife, but it's mostly about load management.

Steve Kerr is the Robby Robertson of load management and I'd like JBB to catch up.

Rubio was highly effective with Garland last season and has a history with Mitchell. As we've staggered the two, Rubio will get to play alongside one of them for the most part. I'm excited to get him back, hope he's able to play at a similar level.

I agree that JBB needs be better at minute distribution.Neto, Garland, Mitchell, Levert, Cedi, and Okoro in the 1 and 2 spots is plenty to mix and match to alleviate it before Rubio comes back.

Do you think we'll ever get to a place where JBB is the Levon Helm of load management?

Levon Helm at his peak was the Micheal Jordan of rock music. Dude was unbelievable and didn't need load management. Even quit music for a few years to work an oil rig, then starred in a movie a few years later... totally an MJ move. Definitely the most important white guy named Levon in recorded human history.

Elton John even wrote a song about him....

I saw Levon play a show in his barn in Woodstock, NY and it was amazing. Helm and his backing band played The Weight and I almost blew my load.

Any word on his expected return? Is he practicing with the team yet?

During the Bucks pregame show, there was a brief moment of Rubio putting up
shots in the background while JM & AC were setting up the game.

I am also curious about his progress.
