RIP Fred McLeod

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fred was a member at the gym I work at. And when the team got their rings for the championship, he brought his to the gym. He gave it to the staff and said he’d pick it up when he was finished with his workout.

Fred was exactly who you thought he’d be. He was at the gym Monday afternoon... wearing an orange Browns shirt with the Browns hat to match. He stopped and talked to me about the Browns and that first game. He was looking forward to seeing the team get it together.

I saw him roughly 3x a week for the last 4yrs. He would always talk to those who wanted to bend his ear, even on his personal time.

Wow. What a gracious, wonderful guy.

You are veery fortunate, as are many it seems, to have such beautiful memories of him.

He has touched many lives.

Man I'm still heartbroken about this. So many iconic phrases and moments over the years. Fred and AC have been calling games together since I've become a fan of the team so this is a tough one.

I would love nothing more than to be able to get a hold of Fred and AC's call of game 7. We've obviously all seen the 'GOOD NIGHT OAKLAND' moment, but i wish i could relive the entire game with them because the ups and downs were just insane.

How can we make this happen? It's gotta exist somewhere.

It exists, but apparently the full thing will never see the light of day because the Cavs did not get permission from the NBA to create that “home commentary” track, let alone distribute it.

The first game should be in silence, just give me arena sounds and player chatter with shoes squeaking. That's the ultimate respect to one Fred McLeod.

This loss really hurts. I am still shocked. He was so good at his job. The broadcasts just won't be the same.

I am sad to hear this happened! I am not really a fan of the NBA of late, but I was always a fan of McLeod and Carr and missed when I moved out of Ohio not listening to those guys while watching the games. He was one of the most enjoyable sports announcers and really will be missed!

Sucks and hope his in a better place but any chance they bring back Michael Reghi loved as an annoucer and was pissed that Dan pushed him out for no god damn reason.

I'd only accept Reghi as a replacement if possible. Fred gave us too many classics. "GOODNIGHT OAKLAND" is burned into my ears forever
