Top of the 9th as well when we had the lead and two outs. It would start slow, and then with each pitch he'd do it faster until it was the normal drumbeat.It blows my mind that some people (cough, my parents) who have watched games for years didn’t realize there was a rhyme and reason to when he’d bang the drum: runner in scoring position, and bottom of the 8th and 9th.
When the Black Keys drummer filled in on opening day in 2021, and he started doing it the moment the first inning started, I was like, what the fuck is this?
