Former Jazz legend Mark Eaton has died following a bicycle crash.

He was one of the greatest defensive players of all time. He was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, All-Star and has the highest career average in blocks (3.5). He once averaged an astonishing 5.6 BPG in the 1984-85 season.

And, in his time as a player, he continued to drive a VW Golf. Because of his 7-4 frame, he had to drive from the back seat...

He is remembered as a genuinely nice man who never let his notoriety get to his head, a great family man and mentor; most recently to Rudy Goebert.

Watched this dude block a shot standing up

Eaton was an absolute monster of a man.

As a kid, he proved to me Sasquatch was real.

Wasn't Eaton also badly injured in a bike wreck a couple years ago? Seems like a strange outlet for a giant.

That was Shawn Bradley.

Rough year for the tall guys.

Just back from a bike ride. I avoid roads wherever possible. Had to make a panic stop when a driver stopped and started over the trail. Can’t win a collision with a car.
