A true warrior back in the day. Underdized for a center at 6’9 but made up for it with physicality and heart (averaged 19 and 13) He and Wes Unseld were my favorite big men in those days!

Damn. Another legend lost. MVP regular season and playoffs in 1969-70.

Also means NBA Radio will be dominated by Game 7 for weeks.

As a kid in northern Wisconsin in the '70s shooting hoops by myself, I made up a game I played just about every evening between my Milwaukee Bucks vs the dreaded NY Knicks.
Lew Alcindor, Bobby Dandridge, and the Big O- Oscar Robertson vs Willis Reed, Earl the Pearl Monroe, and Walt Frazier.

RIP Mr Reed. You never won on my court, but you were a fierce competitor and a hell of an opponent. God bless you. Sorry about the losses.
