Rodney Hood: Won't be missed

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I guess I don't believe he's gonna waive his nontrade clause for most teams. He starts here. Plays big minutes here. In Milwaukee he's coming off the bench out the gate and probably barely getting to 15 minutes a night?

Is that what a guy seeking a contract would want?

The MLE is more than the Cavs were offering Hood. My guess is if Koby says the offer won't be going up in the summer or will be lower, he will be willing to move on.

Last impressions tend to get the lower tier guys paid in the summer. A couple good performances in the playoffs could get him paid. Just look at the contract the Cavs gave Jarrett Jack in 2013.

Don't see any incentive for us to give him big minutes after the trade deadline.

Get at least a small chunk of minutes in the playoffs when everyone is watching vs playing for the worst team in the league where your teammates make it harder for you to succeeed...? I think he’d gladly leave.

It's pretty complex. He hasn't obviously played himself into a Payday. I think he has to want to go somewhere else because he knows this hasn't increased his value to the Cavs right? If he takes 7 M now he just wasted a year of his career to get paid the same as last year.

It's crazy how many people thought he was a value pickup last deadline. We traded Jae Crowder for a guy somehow more inconsistent

Bleacher report is proposing hood for thon Maker. I would do it to get rid of hood. But if it happens nance moved to PF full time Two headed center core of zizic maker would be interesting

Take that deal in a heartbeat. Move on from from guys who have no future or value to us and accumulate some prospects and picks.

Maker is interesting, he might be 30 years old lol but nonetheless can have some explosive periods of play where he looks elite especially defensively but like most young guys is very inconsistent.

They get Maker AC is gonna have a hell of a time telling the difference between him and Adel . . .

He’s gone! Never have I been so wrong about a players impact than I was about Hood or Crowder. Thought he’d give us a solid, efficieny 12-15 when Bron was here, but he really shit the bed. Still, good luck to him and I hope he helps Portland make the playoffs

He was a big disappointment. I think we all thought, with LeBron esp he would average double digits.
Not even close.

Good riddance to this mental midget waste of a roster space POS.

EDIT: Did a quick reaction survey on Portland's RealGM forum. They're talking themselves into Hood, like we tried to last year.

Wish him all the best. He is a good person, but is pure fools gold.

I have never hated a cav as much as him I don't think. Our team is improved. Don't mess around and make the playoffs. I will always blame him for LeBron leaving.

I remember a few Utah fans throwing cold water when we got him. I remember thinking he lit us up every time we played Utah. They were like you’ll hate him and he isn’t good. Thought it was sour grapes. It wasn’t. Portland fans will be telling the Shanghai Sharks fans the same thing when they want to pair him with Jimmer Fredette in 18 months.

Good. Can’t complain about this trade. I would’ve taken just one 2nd round pick. Two small assets for a negative player who was also gonzo after this year. I’d sell higher on Burks. I like the way he plays, and we can’t just straight up get rid of all our talent.

Hood is frustrating because he has the physical gifts but does not have the will to do so. Definitely fools gold. I was excited when we got him due to the numbers, but Utah ran out of patience. They also hoped he could be more, but they are in a much better place without him. We're in a better place without him as well.

For all the negatives of Clarkson, at least the guy tries consistently.
