Round 1 Game 3 | Cavs vs. Bulls | April 22, 2010 | 7:00 EST TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
5 game series, boys. Don't sweat it.

Exactly.
Only way I worry even the slightest is if this doesn't light a fire under us for game 4.
Oh and if another 7'1 325lb man misses a dunk from right under the basket

Shaq is starting and on the bench tomorrow? NICE! JK JK....we need to limit their paint scoring and I would say watch out for Kirk Heinrich....been pretty quiet the past few games, look for a big game from him tonight

Obviously Mike Brown didn't read any of our game notes and continued to send the double up to Rose and we continually left Heinrich wide open. Can somebody please fill me in on this defensive 'play' that we ran over and over and over and why MB ever thinks it's a good idea.....

When the opposing team has the ball at the top of the 3 pt line we have our normal guard on him, then we send up one of our bigs for the awkward double-teamy thingy (yeah that's what I call it)...ya know, the play when Z or Jamison runs out there, throws their hands at them and tries to get back to their man before a pass. We ran this play over, and over, and over but instead of passing to an open big the Bulls would continually pass to an open Kirk Heinrich....this is a guy that can shoot the shit out of the ball and were leaving him open to just rain three's on us. Keys for game 4...get back to playing defense...man the fuck up and guard your man...get the inside game going, and don't take 35 threes.

Maybe Mike should put in his defensive stopper, Daniel Gibson, to quiet down Rose.

Hey, he's better at defense than Mo Williams, right?

I just want to entice those Gibson fans to come out. :chuckles: The ones that believe he can play defense. He would look even more pathetic defending Rose than Mo does.

Also, other than the missed free throws, I liked Mo’s contribution. I mean that sincerely.

From what I saw on that Delonte traveling call, it wasn't a travel since he was in the air when he passed it. Can anyone post the replay if possible?

I thought he did basically what was the equivalent of a 2 step to get your pivot foot and then a step jump pass..kinda like a step through move. it just looked so awkward, that the refs called it.

I only saw the play twice so maybe I just didn't see it close enough.

And i don't care what anyone says but we are much better team with Delonte starting and playing 40 minutes a game. No way our team as contructed last year would have let this bulls team get a glimpse of a victory.

Let his minutes go down some against a VC, Lewis, Pietrus lineup if need be, but no reason to not be playing him more now.

The fact that we still use Jamison souly as a shooter is really discouraging. We have had the guy for a little more than a month and it still seems like we have no idea what he can do offensively for us. And we have a problem when we have to shoot 35 threes just to keep the game close and we still lose. Jamison had his usual quiet 19 and 11 game. Mo had 21 points but shot 5-11 from three and 7-16 from the field. We had no attacking other than Lebron and you can even say he shot the jumper a little too much. Shaq is just not effective right now more so on defense than on offense.

An even bigger problem was our defense. Our guards cant guard a fly right now. Rose is going where ever he wants and Kirk had all the jumpers he could ask for and he hit them. Noah had 15 rebounds with 4 of them offensive.

Oh yea and Lebron and Mo shot crappy form the line. Lebron was 7-13. He is just not concentrating enough on his shot. He rush's it and he never tucks his elbow in.

At the end of the day we played crappy defense and Mike Brown needs to rip into his guards and Lebron because Deng is having a very solid series so far and that is just unexceptable.

With all that said, i like the fact that we are being tested. Last playoffs we ran through the first 2 rounds and met the Magic and lost our first game and we had no idea how to take that lose. This team has now felt the results of defeat and they will grow stronger from this from here on out in the playoffs.

The Jamison thing was pointed out by me and a few others when we traded for him. he is not a 'stretch four' like Rashard Lewis or Rasheed is. He is a more of a junk guy/garbage pale guy. He is what Andy is on defense but on the offensive side of the ball. Yes, he can shoot it sometimes, but he is best served around the rim.

Can I ask why people are blaming Mike Brown and Anthony Parker? BS, Mike Brown did nothing for us to lose, and Parker shot a half court shot, not like he can or any player can make that shot on cue.

well he did have Parker on the floor with only 3.5 seconds and the length of the floor to go....Delonte, Mo, Moon, Andy, Lebron... thats what was needed..not parker.

When you have a liability on the floor in situations, its funny how the ball bounces their way. Its like trying to get away with putting a 1st basemen in left field for a few innings. The ball always finds that guy.

Stop with the what-ifs. The refs made a shitload of bad calls. We can't be in the position where the game gets decided by the refs in the first place.

Make free throws.
Play defense
Penetrate their assholes.

wear the cavs throw back jerseys for game 5.

another thought... why not try moon on rose?

hes 10x quicker than parker who tried to guard him (lol mb) and is way lengthier to contest his shots and stop his penetration.

Marquis Daniels showed to blow by Moon a long time ago. Moon is a hard worker and tough player, but he's not completely the smartest tool in the shed. He's not laterally quick so he has to know not to play Rose too close or the penetration happens, AGAIN.
