Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Retarded first half, fantastic second half.

GAME WAS AWESOME. Crowd was nuuuuuts in the 4th quarter, had a blast.

Any way to watch the TNT broadcast? I'd love to see how much shit Kenny Smith talked.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Thoughts following the Cavs 101-93 Game 1 win over the Celtics:

* Still feeling good about the prediction that the Cavs win this series in six games. The Celtics played well for a long time in this one and many of the errors they made are correctable.

It is questionable whether Rajon Rondo can play better, 27 points and 12 rebounds is pretty good, though he wasn't quite as effective in the second half. But Paul Pierce can play better, you would assume, after he finished the game by missing 12 of 13 shots. Ray Allen missed five of seven 3-pointers.

Allen, for that matter, made the odd decision of passing up a 3-pointer when he thought an official was a Cavs defender. Kevin Garnett missed a 1-footer at the rim in the fourth quarter. Those were just playoff-pressure moments.

The Celtics will play cleaner and better.

But what the Celtics have to realize when they go to sleep after Game 1 is they don't appear to have answer for LeBron James. And, frankly, they don't seem close.

There was a time when their general defensive stiffness plus LeBron's unwillingness to distribute at times could create a vortex that would suck James in. Seeing Pierce, Marquis Daniels and Tony Allen try in Game 1, that isn't there anymore. James can get to the basket about whenever he wants and that has been the case for awhile now.

In 2008, James shot 35 percent against the Celtics in the playoffs. In the regular season this year, James averaged nearly 37 points. He had 35 in Game 1 and made 12-of-24 shots on a night when he said he had to resist the urge to make excuses about the state of his elbow.

There maybe a game or two in this series when LeBron's teammates let him down to such a level that it may open the door for Boston to take a game or two. But unless something changes -- and I've watched six Cavs-Celtics games this season including the preseason, and I don't see where it is coming from -- it is going to be very hard for the Celtics to compete when giving up that kind of production. Especially in the fourth quarter, where LeBron has vanquished the Celtics in the last four meetings now.

* Two unheralded performances in Game 1 came from Anthony Parker and Delonte West. Parker got beaten a few times by Rondo but he did a decent job of staying in his passing lanes to cut down his dominance in the second half. West made three big baskets in the first half to keep the Cavs in the game when Boston was looking like they were about to go up 20. The Cavs' bench outscored the Celtics' bench 26-12.

That was thanks, in part, to Rasheed Wallace. Sheed was 1-of-5 and shot a jumper in the second half that was so flat that I'm not sure it got to 10 feet in the air.

* JJ Hickson had a nice impact on the game, scoring 11 points by running the floor and creating his own shot a little. Mike Brown went to Zydrunas Ilgauskas early, sort of as a tip of the cap to the veteran. But Z was slow in rotations and played an ineffective five minutes with two fouls and no rebounds.

Hickson made a handful of defensive mistakes and box out errors. But Brown said after the game he's going to give him some slack to play in the series. That could be good news for JJ fans, he's going to get playing time. You could see that Boston had trouble staying with him, e

What a crazy ass night.

Alls I remember is a bunch of drunk people talking about how retarded Mike Brown is at the bar, the LeBron elbow injury looked serious after his first 5 shot attempts and then he became the king again.

Still can't believe Mo fucking posterized Pierce lol, and Delonte is THE MAN.

At the end James makes ever the difference ...

The turning point was at the end of the third quarter when Mo has placed fifth (?, it's right? i'm italian, sorry ...) and then James has closed the game ...

However Rajon Rondo is really strong ...

Shaq looks like he's getting fatter each game.

With 4 Rebounds last night, Shaq have a total of 2482 playoff rebounds (3rd all time behind Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell).

What is this post exactly? Good or bad news? :chuckles:

Shaq does look like he's getting fatter by the game, which is weird, but he was invaluable last night. It was good to see that the Cavs had confidence in him to go to him late in the fourth.
