Round 2, Game 3 | Cavaliers at Celtics | May 7, 2010 | 7:00 PM EDT ESPN

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Paul Pierce is the truth...he doesn't make excuses, I can respect that.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned it already in this thread... but the Boston media was already whining to Doc Rivers about the free throw and foul "disparity" tonight.

Cavaliers fouls: 24. Celtics fouls: 22.
Cavs FT Attempts: 34. Celtics FT Attempts: 29.

Doc was also talking about how he should maybe send more video into the league like the Cavs do because it works...

Post Game 3 thoughts:

1. obviously loved intensity from start, get Celts down early and they check out for the rest of the game

2. Look what happens when you don't FORCE FEED Shaq the ball and just let the ball come to him in the progression of a possession, great game for the big guy pretty much exactly what we should be getting out of him on a nightly basis.

3. still don't feel good about Mo's play, minor but don't think he can just settle in the background against a team like the Magic like he did tonight. i'm still expecting more. Did however do a good job attacking the rim

4. Love JVG's sweeping statements: "This is why they're the best team in the NBA. When they play well, they're unbeatable" and "JJ Hickson should have been a Most Improved Player candidate"

5. Even though we won in them, still don't like the idea of retro jerseys in the playoffs - the team is supposed to represent the current era and therefore wear current jerseys... anyone know the history of wearing retros in playoffs?? has this even been done before??

6. Love it: Celts, Red Sox, and Bruins all lost tonight, but i feel ZERO sympathy for boston fans

7. Good job making free-throws for once

Agreed...if the Cavs want to get anyone goin early it should be Tawn...and that opens it up for LBJ and then when he or LBJ drives they must converge and allows Shaq to get dumpoffs for easy dunks or off reb put backs....those get him goingh I think and then he gets active and in the flow and that lil 8 ft hook shot gets goin a bit better....still 2 of the best dunks in the NBA these days are the LBJ one handed hammer and the big 2 handed flush by the Diesel...after Perkins semi-denied him the 1 time a power dribble and 2 handed monster dunk next time kinda sent a message I believe.....like that shit won't happen again Perk

Honestly I hope that last game woke them up to COMPETE like this every night and if so I feel better about this team than I have in at least a few months

Great EFFORT and HUSTLE and that is what it is all about for the Cavs

Windhorst said the same thing. Get it to the Big Guy while he is on the move. Shaq is still unstoppable when moving. A couple of extra passes and Shaq can really do damage.

I thought Mo had a solid game. He had 12 points and 7 assists with no turnovers. He played better defense too. I was happy to see him attack the rim a few times as well. If we stay aggressive like that, I don't think they can stop us.

I've seen posts about the retro uni's, etc, so I must take a stand:

I LOVE THE UNI'S. I TOTALLY LOVE THEM. WE DO NOT LOSE WHEN WEARING THEM.

Keep wearing them for away games please.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers sidestepped questions about the officiating following the team's Game 3 loss to the Cavaliers.

"I'll let you guys talk about the fouls," Rivers said during his post-game press conference.

Cleveland attempted seven more foul shots than Boston overall, but the Cavaliers held a 13-to-five edge in the first quarter.

"I think we were attacking just as much as they were," Rivers said.

"I may have to start sending in more tape like they do."

Rivers added that the Celtics had two poor practices heading into Game 3 that were like "pulling nails."

"Defensively, we were horrible," he said. "I mean, [LeBron] was playing HORSE."

"I think he's healthy," Rivers said of his elbow. "Enough with the elbow thing."

In regards to point 5, it isn't a retro jersey, but its the cavfanatic jersey, they made their debut this season so it is a current era thing. Plus we are now 3 and 0 wearing them, so fuck it, keep wearing them.

When you suck you have to blame other people other than yourself and team. Doc knows his team is in over their heads.
