Quotes After Game 3

34hujnk.jpg
:

(What did you think of your team’s play tonight?)
“I thought tonight we were aggressive on both ends of the floor for 48 minutes. We talked about playing a 48 minute game and I thought our guys did that tonight. It was great to see LeBron set the tone from the jump ball and everybody else followed. We had great performances from a lot of guys that led to a very good ball game for us. I thought winning the possession game with the rebounds was huge and I thought that having a lot of guys have the opportunity to contribute offensively with the way we moved the ball and moved bodies was huge. It’s a short turnaround, we know it’s a long series, so we’ve got to come out and play just like we did today in game four.”

:

Aggression was my mindset. It was my mindset to come out really aggressive an just dictate tempo from the start of the jump and I was able to do that.

Being on the road, mindsets change, personnel change. I think you can afford, saying myself can afford, to play the back role a little bit at home. Guys are more confident at home, guys shoot the ball sometimes better at home. You can feed off the crowd. It enables to not do as much offensively and then wait until the second half, wait until the fourth quarter and then close games out. On the road you can’t do that as much because honestly it’s just you and your teammates, the coaching staff and friends and family that have come here for the game. So it started with me tonight and then everyone seen my aggression and just took advantage of it

:

(Did the team get overconfident after Monday’s win)
“Well I wish I could answer that. Let’s give Cleveland credit. I thought they came out, they attacked, they played with a sense of urgency, they moved the ball, and they followed their game plan. And then they had a great player, who was phenomenal in the first half. In the first quarter, I thought LeBron completely set the tone of the game. And we didn’t have anybody to respond to him.”

whk7jc.jpg
:

we definitely hang our hat on our defense and the guys in there have a lot more pride and you can see it in their faces. A lot of guys were mad. But you don’t get this game back, so it’s up to us to get a good practice in tomorrow and try to bounce back on Sunday.”

Tips to Victory

(1.) Keep Rondo out of the paint, once he gets in there he gets the Celtics offense moving. He's an excellent facilitator, so it'll take some Cavs creativity to keep the ball in his hands and back in the mid-range area. Rondo jumpshots are something the team can live with, even if he does make them this leads to Boston stagnation and stunts the big three from making meaningful contributions.

(2.) Be the aggressor. Up until the game 3 whooping the Cavs were playing reactive basketball while Boston was the aggressor. Let's not even worry about free throws and fouls, the constant attack mode on the offensive side of the floor is exhausting. Boston have wily veterans, but the type of play seen on Friday will wear them out and works towards the younger (and deeper) Cavaliers.

(3.) Continue to pound the boards, Boston is the worst team in that department. One and done for the Celtics is ideal. Being aggressive here, and especially for the 50/50 balls will yield good things for us.

(4.) Watch game 3 tape. Repeat. Win. Anything else I didn't say above but was done on Friday, do that. Boston will come out looking for revenge and try to match our physicality. Give them nothing, but take from them everything. Hoorah!

I will take 14, and 7 on 50% shooting with 0 turnovers all day any day....invisible man is doing fine in my book....even on his terrible 1-9 game he had 7 assists and only 1 turnover.

You're right, that portion of the preview was done before the game 3 performance. Edited to better reflect the more appropriate Mo Williams play. Cheers.

Awesome preview. I think some of the Celtics animations should move right instead of left to reflect how they're not always on the same page. :chuckles:

Where's my man BigMarr?? He preached all week that we are something like 10-0 when winning game one of a series.

I heard that the Cavs have never lost a series when up 2-1, as well... Hope this helps...

I will say the Cavs will win by at like 160 points. LeBron will go for 100, Mo will get it going by scoring 30 and dishing out 10 assists, Antawn will score the other 30 while grabbing 70 rebounds.

Final score, 162-2. Cavs.

In realization the Cavs will have a tough game, just like after the Cavs blowout the Celtics have a mindset to win this game. Hopefully the Cavs can pull this one out.

If the Cavaliers bring the intensity they had on game 3 Celtics will have a long mother day...So sad i wont catch the game fck.

If we win, it's over in 5.

Nice test to see what kind of killer instinct LeBron has.

Awesome stuff, as usual

Here's your NumbersDon't preview:

Game Preview – Sunday May 9 2010 – Cleveland Cavaliers @ Boston Celtics – Game 4

After Game 2, Mike Brown laid into his team like never before. They responded in a very big way on Friday night, clobbering the Celtics 124-95 in Boston, handing the Celts their worst home playoff loss. It was the Cavaliers 2nd win in Boston in 12 postseason tries, and their 2nd largest postseason win in franchise history, 1 point less than the 30 point win over Washington in Game 2 of the 1st round series in ‘07-’08. Also in Game 3, LeBron James surpassed 2,000 points for his playoff career, doing so in his 68th game.

Cavs need to come out of the locker room like the 300 spartans

Shit needs to get done real fast.

Cavs need to come out of the locker room like the 300 spartans

I know this isn't meant to be taken literally, but I swear to God if I saw Bassy come out and stab KG with one of those long ass Spartan spears it would validate my entire existence.

We are going to fuck the Celtics up. Fuck them all. We don;t give no fucks about Boston.

I'm sick and fucking tired of hearing about "what a great basketball team the Celtics have. Fuck 'em. Today is our day to pummel them x2. And we don't give no fucks about them. PP, RayRay, KG, go rot to death. Rondo ain't bring you no where. Our only concern Dwight, who isn't even on your team."

This is a must win game for us. Orlando, Suns and Lakers are manhandling their opponents and we need to show that we are also their caliber. Taking two away will do that just fine.
