Round 3, Game 1 | Cavaliers vs. Magic | May 20, 2009 | 8:30PM (EST) TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lebron said that the offense got a little stagnant in the second half because he was dominating the ball but that he thought he had it going.

Mo jumped in and said that there was nothing wrong with Lebrons' game, but that he(Mo) didn't step up to support and he had plenty of chances with 19 shots. He said' It's all on me.'

I still think it's funny that we only lost by one and lebron hit 49 points after a 9 day rest.....

What are the chances that Mo, Z, and West all have a bad game the rest of this series.

A team that lives and dies by the 3 isn't going to win a best of seven series.

Qaatar:

You PM'd me your concerns, which will be answered for you in a public forum instead, hopefully so that other new posters can get a handle on what this board is all about:

If you join RCF within a week or two, you are a "training camp invitee." As a moderator, I don't know if you are selling throwback jerseys and need a new advertising venue, live in an insane asylum, or happen to be a troll who wears Micky Mouse ears 24/7.

I do know that you have posted the fact you aren't even a Cavs fan. I didn't ban you yet, because I don't think you have egregiously crossed any lines like two others have tonight. However, if you do not learn one hell of a lot about timing and tact pretty damn quick, I have no problem banning a guy who is getting long-time members all worked up and doesn't even claim to be a Cavs fan.

Our purpose on this website is pretty clear. Again, read the rules. If this isn't the website for you, Godspeed.

Yes, this is your head's up.

We shot 5 more threes than them. We live and die by the three too. I am sick of hearing that.

Just got back from the game a little bit ago and have avoided this place like the plague. 1,300+ unread posts? Bigtime shocker. I'm just as upset we let this one get away as everyone else is, but I skipped to the final page to avoid the pointless negativity that will do nothing but anger me.

Now, a few things to think about...

First, many of us knew this would be Orlando's game to steal, given the fact that they're coming off a bigtime win in Boston and we had rested 9 days and could appear stagnant. Although the first half was a success, you could see the wheels in motion. The Cavs allowed 48 points in the first half on 51% shooting. The defense was sloppy at times, there was absolutely no stopping Howard, and for about the last 10 minutes of the half we traded baskets with them. Unfortunately, the long rest caught up with us and the sloppy defense not only carried over into the second half, but worsened. I, for one, find solace in the fact that no way will Orlando come close to 107 points or 55% shooting on Friday night.

Which leads me to my next point, game 2. If we come out and handle business in game 2, which we should, we're still in an alright position. In fact, we would be right where last year's NBA champions were in the eastern conference finals, tied 1-1 prepared to hit the road. After failing to win a single road game in the first two rounds (reminder, we are 4-0 on the road), a lot of people wrote the Celtics off after splitting it's first two home games versus the Pistons. "They're not good on the road, they forfeited their home court advantage, they haven't faced this type of adversity (remember, neither Pierce, nor Allen, nor KG advanced to the finals before)." But obviously this was not the case, as the Celtics rebounded to win the series in six. Now, we're not that Boston team and we're not playing that Pistons team, but there is no reason to panic. Win game 2 and grab one of the two games in Orlando and bam, you're knotted up 2-2 with home court advantage once more.

I will credit this Magic team. They never gave up, never gave in, and played nearly perfect second half basketball. However, I still think once we clean the defense up and get back to playing Cavalier basketball, we are the better team and will play well enough to account for any and all mismatches. Sorry if I got too preachy, but I just wanted to remind everyone that the sky is still up there... way above us.

Can I get some cliffnotes here, Keys? Who felt the unearthly smash of the banhammer?

After watching all the thugging and face-mugging by Pietrus am I the only one that can't stand that guy?! :thumbdown

Cama: I'm five in, Pip downed another.

I'm sure mods are coming off as sore losers here, but I find it interesting that the mods who have done the banning are bi-coastal. We cheer for several teams, while holding the Cavs dear to our hearts.

When I say that, I mean Pip is an L.A. dude who lives in Cleveland, and knows when to bite his tongue about certain issues. I live on the West Coast and root for many Western Conference teams beside Cleveland, the town I spent my childhood. I also spent four years in Pittsburgh, PA, where I learned to be a respectful Browns fan when outnumbered. Because of this experience, I know when people are out of line and acting classless.

Magic fans who goad and chide directly after a Cavaliers loss should pretend they are in a Cleveland bar when logging on to RCF. If you think the words that come out of your mouth might get you beat up if said in a Cleveland bar, don't type them.

I have no problem dropping a ban hammer tonight.

Hey, at least you didn't get curb-stomped like you would have if you ran your mouth to our faces. Your dentist will thank your for just getting banned from RCF, if you really think about it.

Smart metaphor. By the way, did anyone see the dude that got rocked on Prospect Ave? I was walking back after the game and I guess some guy got beat the **** up and and was slouched on the sidewalk not moving with a bunch of people around him. I only thought of it know because I was wondering if it resulted because of the game (wouldn't surprise me). Anyway, it didn't seem like the dude was looking good, but an ambulance was coming in as soon as I walked past him.

Very ticked....good first half...third quarter..no stops...LeIso way too much...No Mo/Delonte/Z...nothing..

The Cavs stopped defending the pick n pop...Lewis started hitting and no adjustment made..
I didn't care about Howard except Z cannot take a step back after DH sets up and allow him to spin toward the hoop...he's got to meet him early in the paint and shove hm out more..
Too much standing around..Mo cannot defer the ball to LBJ every time down the court..he shoyuld have been taking Alston and working him..

You are not alone. Pietrus needs to realize that this is the NBA, not a French league, and his antics won't be tolerated much longer. A well placed elbow from Ben should make short work of that novice.

I don't get why anyone thought we would sweep this series. Orlando pretty much had their way with us this year. We have no answer for Dwight Howard. Our best defender on Dwight Howard might be Lebron James..how funny is that. We know we can not have Lebron on Dwight. Andy is the next best option, but we do not have any answer besides Lebron and maybe JJ Hickson when Dwight plays above the rim like he did last night.

With that said, Z/Andy still played well last night. The Magic manhandled us when we had Joe/Big Ben/Wally in the game.

Delonte shot 8 3pointers his most since 12/30/08. Thats not what we want Delonte to do. he didn't take it strong to the rack much. I thought he played great other than his shooting though. And him playing so much didn't really have a negative impact on the game at all. The shot he missed at the end game reminded me of the shot he missed at the end of the game 7 last year against the Celtics. It looked good, but it wasn't.

Lebron tricked himself at the end of the game. Most of the game (save the first few minutes) he would force his way where he wanted, then at the end game he decides to pass off the most crucial shot of the game? he was in position to score and he passed. There was nobody to contest his shot if he were to just rise up.

Big Ben needs to do SOMEthing in the game. Might as well play Darnell Jackson if Big Ben is going to fall asleep defensively. At least Darnell can hit a shot sometimes.

Not playing Sasha is mind boggling. Orlando is one of the teams he needs to play against if not the only one. He needs to be in the game to guide Hedo and Rashard ESPECIALLY with the 2nd unit and possibly at the end of games.

There is no reason NOT to play Lebron at the 4 spot more against Orlando. And to boot, Dwight is out of the game. Why play Z AND andy? Its not an advantage with Rashard playing the 4. Andy tries but Rashard has a big advantage there. Since he doesn't play inside much, it takes away alot of Andy's defensive abilities.

Lebron didn't play well defensively. He just didn't. Hopefully he rebounds. Hedo's shot has been basically off the whole year. Make him beat you over the top instead of making him be Magic Johnson.

The turnover margin didn't matter because we missed 10 more shots than they did. The only difference in my opinion in the outcome is that we missed some 3's and a couple free throws. Everything else was a wash. We blocked 7 of their shots too!

Thank you Mo, Delonte, and everyone expect Lebron for showing up and playing a great game.

Now what...we need to win in a place where we were down by 41...God damn...

Is Lebron injured?
