The Guardians still have a roster crunch for NEXT off-season with roughly a dozen guys worthy of consideration to get added (along with anyone that remains after the upcoming draft).

Well this is definitely a RHP led discussion... Currently..

OF - Will Brennan is close to having one to lose, Micah Pries has to perform. Escobedo is the boogey-man here.

C - Bo(Noah) Naylor is a certain lock right now. But based on 2021 and what he does in 2022, he might get spongey. 100% now, hopefully 200% as 2022 finishes up.

IF - Angel Martinez.... Perhaps the oft-mentioned yet to show up in real ball - Junior Sanquintin.. Too unfamiliar with the other names at this point.

LHP - somebody help me here

RHP - Welcome to the Terrordrome bitch - at least 6 here to watch.

Who are the names you are thinking about?

Battenfield, Curry, Hankins, Bo Naylor, Angel Martinez and Will Brennan are the ones I could put money one...

Then my next list would go to Torres Jr, Micah Pries, Gabriel Rodriguez, Junior Sanquintin, Enright, Gaddis, Mikolajchak

Only other name I recognize is Holland, I dont really know any of the lefties...

Randy Labaut seems interesting... that could be a sleeper in 22

I dont know all those named on there to be honest... can you rate the top ones? Lol

I sincerely dont think the 23 crew that are newly rule 5 are nearly as talented personally, so I am not worried, but names to keep an eye are is the interesting part... Almost like having those guys ranked would be kind of cool in a sense.

I completely agree. That said there are 6 players that were ranked in the Baseball America top 40 list before the 2021 season on the list. Additionally there were a handful of players that took major steps forward during 2021 & another player acquired via trade in the mix.

It will be an interesting watch throughout 2022...

Pries has good minor league numbers so far! He will see AA next season which is normally a major test..

All true, but...

He is a 24 yr old corner player with limited defensive ability...and probably slated for 1B. He is left handed in an org where almost every corner prospect is left handed...and he is in direct competition with a four year younger RH corner player that is already on the 40 man.

Obviously, he has only played one season and has looked good...and obviously some of the LH corner players above him could be moved off the roster.

But his age and the numbers are working against him.

Just out of curiosity, what do we think the chance of Alex Call being taken are? If he's taken it's a good thing we kept Mercado and added Kwan. I've seen him mentioned as a potential R5 to play a Mercado-ish role for another team.

I'd vote it's a likely no... I think with a solid spring he could be acquired by another team, but honestly he is due for AAA in 22 and 23 he will get a chance for an MLB roster...
