Series #10 Indians @ Marlins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It wouldn't be an Indians season without a pitcher missing significant time from a come backer. I guess the one positive is Kluber now has plenty of time to study his mechanics and hopefully come back with consistency?

So who is next man up? I know much about him, but Asher Wojciechowski has pitched well so far at Columbus, but he has been a bit of a HR-allowing machine the past 2 seasons. Cody Anderson? Don't think he is quite ready for extended innings

These injuries really put a lot of weight on the rest of the rotation and bullpen.

Well Jefry is now by default going to the the fourth man in the rotation, but he won't be ready to pitch until May 5th since he started at AAA on 4/30. So he will likely get the starting nod May 6th and a call up for the Chicago series.

Edwards/Anderson will get a quick call up to fill in the bullpen until the 6th.

Plutko I don't think is ready to pitch yet, and Anderson still hasn't been extended so he is out being in the rotation.

Rotation guys left on the 40 man roster:

We only got Chih-Wei Hu, who in all sincerity has been an okay starter in the minors, but has better numbers from the pen.

Since Kluber is likely going to the 60 day DL we can then select a guy from the minors

Guys in the minors:

AAA:

Asher Wojciechowski, 0.82 ERA, in 4 starts, 22.0 innings, 24 Ks, 10 BBs, 0.95 WHIP. He has a career 6.64 ERA in 78.2 innings in the pros.

Michael Peoples, 2.96 ERA, in 4 starts (5 total appearances), 27.1 innings, 25 Ks, 8 BBs, 1.28 WHIP. Never started in the majors. He has been hurt the last two seasons and totaled like 133.1 Innings total with bad numbers so he missed his chance to make the pro team after a strong 16 campaign.

Chiang I dont think is ready yet, so I doubt he would get added.

AA:

Zach Plesac, 0.86 ERA, in 5 starts, 31.1 innings, 28 Ks, 3 BBs, 0.70 WHIP. Only has 9 starts in AA to his record at the moment.

Otherwise we are looking at Eli Morgan at Lynchburg, but I think that may be too much of a jump.

Any speculation on how much time Kluber will miss? Do we expect him to pitch again this season?

Should be back, but will be out quite a bit.

Should have more info today with regards to timetable.

Smart money is on Woj or Peoples, especially if Kluber will be out more than two months. Opens up a 40-man spot instantly.

Think any trade could happen? Aka for someone like the Tomlin's out there, someone who is a spot starter/reliever or someone that has started before in another teams AAA roster?

No

I don't expect one either, but I am not going to 100% rule out something like the Yankees did for Maybin in a sense.

I am just scared of the time table of Klubers return since its his pitching arm. Not sure how much affect that would have on his pitching since it does put a lot more pressure on the arm, wrist, etc when you do a lot of pitching.
