Series #50: Tribe @ ChiSox

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I actually have a lot of guys over Snell, but understand his combination of glamour stats will win over some votes. Innings matter though.

He's only thrown 8.1 innings more than Bauer, who has missed a month.

I think its interesting that the espn predictor has snell first, kluber a close-ish second and then there are 2 closers before we get to verlander whom isnt that close.

I think kluber finishes 2nd ultimately. But winning wouldn't surprise me.

Snell has objectively been better, IMO.

Yeah but has 35 less innings pitched. Thats almost 20% less innings pitched. Thats not insignificant

It’s not, but it’s also not enough to outweigh the inarguably better production IMO.

He’s just been better across the board.

Cy Young race should be interesting for sure. I know we all want Kluber to win, but he really honestly shouldn't. He's had a fantastic year for sure, but I'd definitely vote for Snell and Verlander over him.

Verlander has been a great strikeout pitcher his entire career, and just set his career high (280) this year with Houston at age 35. Going there last season saved his career.

Sale and Bauer didn't pitch enough to win.

Right now if I had a vote, I'd go:

1) Snell
2) Verlander
3) Kluber
4) Sale
5) Bauer

I also went back and looked at Kluber's games where he gave up 2 or less earned runs in 6.1 or more innings pitched without getting a win, and there were three such games, and he lost two of them.

He theoretically could be 23-4 if the bullpen/offense didn't fuck him over, which looks very nice.

He won't and shouldn't win but top 3 would be big for his HOF resume.

Ramirez is such a fuckin' chump.

Michael Brantley was removed from Tuesday night's game with a bruised right calf due to a foul ball. Removed for precautionary reasons.

Out of the pen: Carrasco 4.0 IP 1 H and 8 Ks.

Man I was just thinking .... Assuming Kluber start in game 1 and Cookie in game 2, if you find yourself in a decisive game 5 you have Kluber as the starter and Carrasco out of the pen on normal rest . What a luxury.

Edit: Didn’t think he would come out for the 9th. Appetently I jinxed him.

In a real game that matters, none of what just happened would happen. Tito just letting guys play.

Cookie crumbled, and the Tribe loses in a walk-off...

Bullpen is cursed. Doesn't matter who comes out of it, no lead is safe.

Keep telling myself they'll figure it out. But then again, these games have no meaning, warm-up games if anything.

When was the last date Cody worked? Nevermind, pitched the 24th, rested since the 15th.
