Silas to Minnesota?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I want Silas, very badly. I'm a huge Minnesota fan. Flip was a good coach, but showed very little discipline and was soft, and it showed this year with everything going on. It was obvious, the Cavs made a big mistake letting Silas go, at the wrong time. I would love to have Silas in Minnesota because he doesn't take crap from anyone. He contrasts from Flip in many ways. So I OK Silas coming to Minnesota, but I doubt it will happen.

• Former Cavaliers coach Paul Silas is believed to be a finalist for the coaching opening in Minnesota. Some insiders suggest that it is down to him and San Antonio Spurs assistant P.J. Carlesimo, who also interviewed with the New York Knicks. Silas is close to Timberwolves guard Sam Cassell. The Cavaliers owe Silas $4 million in each of the next two seasons unless he finds another coaching job. Former Cavaliers coach John Lucas interviewed for the job as well.

It would be interesting to see how Silas does in Minn. I would say he has a better core there. Lots of veterans plus Garnett. IMO it is only a matter of time before he gets to the finals, in spite of what a lot of the posters on this board may think about him.

Silas gets frustrated with young players. He wouldn't have to deal with that over at Minnesota. Plus, being a bigman coach, it should be a dream job for him to work with Kevin Garnett.

I remember some time ago that Silas is high on Charlotte's list as Bickerstaff would rather just stick to being a GM.

I can't believe any team is seriously considering hiring Silas. The man was inept at game planning, in game substitutions, etc. Talent wins in the NBA more then coaching so if he goes to a talented team he'll make the playoffs but he'll never have a team make a deep run
