Sione Takitaki Round 3 Linebacker

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don’t see a 90-grade worthy performance but compared to the rest of his tenure you could have accused him of being formidable and helpful.

was at best a developmental player when he was acquired if he’s starts to get it hey great if not meh never expected too much of him

What an amazing benefit it would be if this guy eventually turned into a good player.

I am still very hesitant jumping on Team Taki Taki. His PFF grades were pretty awful in pass defense until the long stretch of terrible weather at FirstEnergy Field, then he sat out the Jacksonville game.

I think he is a part-timer at best until he becomes more comfortable in zone coverage.

not buying it. He’s a ST player at best.

I'll still keep him for the role of third linebacker who comes in when it's a true 4-3. I just hate watching him run show up a second late in passes in his area.

So much Taki-dejo...

Agreed. Saw the ratings, and just started laughing. Totally insane.

Good to have him back out there this weekend. Always liked this pick as far has his speed out there. And also, a hedge in the event Mack Wilson didn't live up to his potential. Seems we hit decently on each of them fortunately for where they were selected.

Sione does consistently well in special teams kick coverage too. And dude flies around like a missile on defense.

Hip Hop thought enough about this dude to give him his own track even!

It's hard to call someone a hedge when he's drafted first :)

I haven't seen the snap count from the Titans game yet, but it's important to note that out of the nickel package, Takitaki is usually on the sideline.

The majority of the linebacker snaps for the past month go to BJ Goodson and Malcolm Smith. Wilson and Takitaki get reps, but they might as well be called second string.

The Browns still need to draft a linebacker who plays the pass as well as the run to replace Smith next season.

My thoughts on Takitaki are well known. I think if he's starting on your depth chart, you're in trouble.

I still have faith in Wilson and Philips, but that comes more from what I thought of them as college players than anything I've actually seen from them at this level.

Accurate assessment, suppose I misrembered draft day. However, taking two of them in the same class I'd say remains a hedge as both Kirksey and Schoebert we pretty well in place at that moment in time.

We shall see how Jacob Phillips plays now that he's healthy and has taken some snaps on Sundays here recently.

But the position remains in flux going forward and would be nice to see some of these dudes substantiate themselves in this scenario.

So like I said, Takitaki can be called a starter, but he is actually a run defense specialist:
